Edit: P.S. I did get a ****** block with the winch. I'll have to start bringing it along after I improve my cargo space.
Excellent. Had one more question. Are the pegs flat on the bottom, like a U-channel or are they a serated H-bar? Thanks again.

From comments I've read having a winch on the front of the Renegade 800 will help in the corners but be sure to stab the throttle going into a jump.

my review of the rene's handling... it's very temperamental in the corners and likes to be "connected" to the ground (even though that 800 rotax makes it
hard to accomplish)- it's a challenge to ride in the deep snow as it's constantly searching for something to grab on to- while in 4x4, if the rear tires are grabbing and the front are slipping, it really throws a fit and zig-zags all over the place as the fronts try to grab and the rears are pushing- it calms down in 2x4 or when riding slowly on slippery surfaces- These 27" 589's make it difficult also- instead of sitting "on top" of the snow- they like to really dig and dig like a shovel- I think they are more suitable for mud then snow.

Even though people say it's the same as an outlander- no way does the renegade handle the same as an outlander, very different- my outty 650's & 800's were very stable & happy in the snow (27" itp mudlites)- all this rene wants is dirt and throttle

It is a simple serrated piece of U-channel which is secured to the aluminum floor pan frame with 2 screws.

Hi Guys!! I live in Dudley. I notice some of you are in my neck of the words. Any chance your looking for someone else to tag along with? I just got my first Quad last summer. 2011 Polaris Sportsman 500. I'm always looking for a place to ride. I love the thing but haven't done much riding. Plowing this winter mostly. If your speed demons I may lag you down. I am a rookie!! I'm a forty year old that likes to putt through the woods. I'd love to meet you guys some time, and pick up some pointers. Thanks for reading. I'm not sure if this forum thread will send me a message that you replied but if not my email is trideer1@charter.net. Shoot me a message if your interested. Take care, Russ

Thanks for the info. I might have ordered a pair but with them being flat on the bottom I'd have to grind a bunch of plastic down. Not a big deal but I may just get some aluminum bar stock, clamp 2 pieces together and drill where they are hitting each other to make "serrations" and then cut them to size. If I get a 7/8" aluminum bar I can sandwich it in the stock plastic serrations and run a couple bolts through the floorboards. You've helped me get a good idea of what to do just from your pictures. My son's Renegade has even wider footpegs than the KQ so I was hoping they'd be narrow enough to fit. Thanks again.

Moose- you should try to mount a set of the kick-up pegs like on the rene... I love'em. I found myself using the kick-ups a lot when standing- the angle felt more natural on my ankles when straddling the wide seat... Should be easy enough to make.

cnc- it's funny that you thought the rear brake pedal was frozen up on the rene- up to that point- I'd never even touched the rear pedal because in 08 can-am added a second hand lever for the front & rear brakes- That rear brake pedal is the tightest I've ever felt on any atv- maybe 1/4" to lock'em up solid!
