dddfx,
there is an excellent place in Madera which is about a half hour drive for you. Its due west of state college. You can take 99 to 453 directly into it. The trail system is directly behind the fire station. No seasons or restrictions or maps for that matter... its not real hard to get lost but there is about 25 miles of trail. Locals say you may camp anytime accross from the FD in the ballfield.

Hey guys, I am from Stuebenville OH, about 45 min west of Pittsburgh, and there are some really great riding areas here. I don't know if anyone has heard of "blockhouse" but this place is unbeleviable! It's in Wellsville Oh and you can easily spend 2-3 days there. Basic camping is avail off trail and about every weekend there is 100-150 people there. everything from nasty mudholes to what seems like mile high hillclimbs. You can also go to an area we call "The White". It is an old mining company that has a literrally piled up White Mountain of what looks like limestone. Unbelievable view of the surrounding area. There are a lot more places to go but these two are by far the best! you can get to both in about an hour west of pittsburgh.

EXtreme, yeah Blockhouse is off of yellow creek, the hillclimbs are right up the road from there. you can access those by trail but it takes about 2hours(long way there) or you can load up and take rt 213 there in about 20 minutes. The white is slightly southwest of steubenville. I usually unload from a friends house on the far side of wintersville (towards Cadiz OH off of state route 22) and by trail it takes about an hour. I tried to find a decent map online just now to show you and had no luck.
Let me know when you want to go and we could meet in steubenville then you and the wife could follow us out. It's definately worth your trip.

I ride and live in Shenandoah,Pa , its great up here we have huge HUGE hills and some weird places that your griving on hard coal dirt then you just sink into this sand like silt and we have 2 hand made tracks. We had like 50 people up here from all over at the hill we call the ac/dc , I live fairly close to Mt. Carmel, Pa they have some mean jumps up there and some big hills but the cops are starting to catch more people up there.
