PENNSYLVANIA RIDERS

Ahh the coal strips , Our version of the sand dunes. You might need to come north a little , where there were strip/coal mining facilities. I have one of the biggest coal facilites just up the road about a mile, Coonies. They basically own half of PA's land well at least they did they got bought out. Its fun as He|| when you get to go on the 'fresh' coal feels like sand. MINI-GLAMIS!!! lol I'll show you anytime....

Dude, you gotta watch them strip mines if you go through a mud puddle and it's actually a sludge pit your screwed. You might as well say goodbye to atv. I've seen old Ramchargers, deer, quads, motorcycles LITERALLY swallowed up by these pits. They're like quick sand and look like a little mud puddle--- BE VERY CAUTIOUS and take a fried when you go to these places.

ericsraptor is right about the sludge. a few years ago myself and some friends were out riding and we heard someone yelling for help. we found 2 kids and 1 dirt bike stuck in this sludge pit up to their asses. it took 5 of us and about an 1/2 hour of hard work to get them out. we had to cut trees to lay down so we could get to them without getting stuck ourselves. if we had not come along they would have been there till the strip mine opened on monday. we left the bike there for them to get out later.

I'm suprised nobody has mentioned Tower City or Blackwood. These places are far closer to Allentown or Phily. even Baltimore than some of these other places.
Only problem is that we're unsure if Blackwood is still open and Tower City you need to get a membership. But it's well worth the money to ride there.
