Vacation in NC (riding)
#1
Iam getting a vacation rental in Corolla NC. It is a 4wd only house on the beach. I was told you can bring your ATV and pay a $25 dollar registration fee for the week and ride on the beach. Is this true? And is it worth it? I am coming from Pa, and don't want to trailer them down if it is not worth the riding !! The wife is coming, so just cruising up and down the beach will be the norm. Is it legal to ride on the beach?
Thanks for the help !!

I am not fam with Corolla NC, but if they say you can ride on the beach (it's off season now) and for only $25.. go for it.. you did say it was Vacation... anything I ever pay for on vacation is alot more than 25 bucks.

Hello SCman.
As you know, the Mighty Steve Thompson and I just returned from an expedition at "St. James Land Dunes," which is very far south of Corrolla Island. Of course, that was after our failed excursion to Little Saudi Arabia, a very disturbing, bizarre experience reported in the thread <a href="http://forums.atvconnection.com/ubb/Forum6/HTML/000193.html">"DON'T GO TO LITTLE SAUDI ARABIA!!!"</a>
I have been to Corrolla Island. I first rode an ATV at one of the tours there. Yes, permits are required to ride ATVs on the beach, which also serves as a highway. There are some interesting sights, including a light-house, and wild descendants of Conquistador horses.
After going to Little Saudi Arabia, my memory has not been the same. I can not remember...can not remember.....what was I going to say? HMMMMMMMMMMM!

Jason,
When you get back from your vacation, please post a message about the details on the "Where in North Carolina" thread. Reaqders will want to know where to get permits, how much they cost, and what the trails are like.
Thanks,
kclayd
