Yep, 7 hours sounds about right to The Forks. Rugged country up there. Got caught in a nasty downpour with my son last year when we were trying to ride from Jackman to The Forks and back. 70 degrees and sunny on one side of Colburn? Mountain and raining like crazy on the other side.

Does anyone ride in Vermont? Use to ride sleds in Derby / Island Pond / Canaan area. Also use to ride at Woodford in the South Western part of the State. Do they use the same trails as the snowmobiles?

Was also reading about Vermont & New Hampshire honoring each others registration so we don't have to register in both. But we still need our trail pass for Vermont.

While the registration cost is cheap for the quads ($35 for two years per quad?) the other costs of being in a club, VASA, and the VASA sticker make it kind of expensive. I had ridden VT before as they were opening a new trail system in the Barnard area but haven't recently due to cost. And the trail goes right through property my family owns up there.

Here are the numbers for someone who already has quads registered in NH with the reciprocity agreement they just came up with for the 2 year trial period.

Cost breakdown for VASA is as follows:
1.) 45.00 for your Trail Access Decal
2.) 10.00 for your VASA membership
3.) 15.00 OR 20.00 (depending on which club you join) Local Club Membership.
TOTAL: No more than: $75.00

Thanks for posting prices up. I was about ready to do that. No we dont share the trails with snowmobiles. I paid $55 for my VASA membership. Its too bad NH residents have to pay so much to ride the VASA trails when Vermonters can just go to NH and ride for nothing.

Technically, you're supposed to be part of a club in NH to ride on trails that clubs maintain. But, the NOHVA membership is included in the price of the clubs. NH also has many trail systems that allow ATVers to ride during the wintertime. So the $75 registration is good for all but about 2 months, 3 weeks when trails are closed for mud season. Depending on the town, VT is open from late May to late October. So, instead of 9 months for $75 and the club dues (In my case, $30), you get about 5 months for $17.50 + $55 for VASA + $15-$20 for club membership. So, VT is roughly $87.50-$92.50 for a 5 month riding season.

I don't see the reciprocity agreement lasting more than the 2 year period if it's found the Vermonter riders aren't joining a club. They had this kind of agreement before and it was stopped for that reason.

Thanks for the info guys.

I don't mind paying the fees. I look at it, as its the price of owning the toys. I just hate paying (like MA) where they have no problem taking your $$$, but than give you a hard time about actually using them.
