I'm more or less on the way. I'm about ten minutes from the junction of Route 3 and 495 near Lowell. I'll let you know tomorrow afternoon if I can make it.

So I ended up going to the Southern Maine ATV trails. The trails themselves were great. A good mix of everything. However, the trails are really lacking in the marking department. None of the trail numbers in my map from the club matched up with the numbering on the trails themselves. I came to many forks and there were no markings as to which trail nor direction that you were going. I should probably ride with one of their memebers first to get a "lay of the land" first.

We've had the best luck when we have been able to tag along with local club members. We often talk to people and get a better idea of where to go.

I will head back up in a few weeks. I did speak to the club leader and told her about the trail numbering issue I ran into. Her reply was that they are renumbering the trails to be more like the rest of the state and will have an updated map soon
