I don't believe you'll have much luck finding trails in ny or nj- not legal trails anyway. mass, ri & ct is pathetic as well- you have more rights and support as a drug dealer than an atv'er- and from what I hear, Ny is as bad as mass.

if you really want to experience some great riding, spend a long weekend in NH or Maine- or head the other way to Pa & Va- sucks you have to go so far for a ride, but make a weekend getaway out of it. Most of the motels / hotels & camps in NH & Me are trail side...

I really don't know-

I've heard ny is very strict about atv riding- not much upstate...

Knowlton NJ "The Viaduct" there is ATV trails down by the bottom of the abandoned viaduct and on top of the viaduct. They removed the rail road tracks a long time ago and the locals ride there. You can go miles on where the tracks once sat. Park right under the viaduct on Station Rd. Only people who really use that road are the people who come to see the huge abandoned structure, it is on a small back road off of RT 94 in Knowlton. Look it up on bing maps and see zoomed in detail views.
