There's a couple of guys going there this weekend and their keeping me posted of trail routes their taking ea day. I'll keep you posted with their progress. David WestSteve Grinke go around douglas Lake area ..it’s pretty nice and then there is Black Mtn also ..tomorrow we are going to Dingman’s Marsh. He just got back with me and said both of these areas are sxs friendly.
Got 4 fence sections out and new ones in, tomorrow if I'm ble, I'll finish the other 5 sections. Its needed replacing for quite a some time now!
If you were at my house you would be digging in water. Any post hole would cave in and fill with water. Neighbor just picked up a Polaris 500 atv and rode accross the yard to show me, ended up with ruts a couple inches deep, it was that soft and wet!
My map shows those areas to be routes which are utv friendly! Just dont look very big, just a small loop mabey 20 miles in all?
I rode 2 trails by Lewiston, Big Bear and Crapo Creek which it shows as routes and they're connected now too. Cool. Me and the other guys will have to hit them again this summer. We rode Big Bear trail last summer and it was still just a trail. They were both too narrow for a SxS when we rode them and farther west Crapo Creek joined a snowmobile trail, but I haven't been west of the parking lot. It must be where the trail ends on the west. It was on the south side of a paved road and the coordinates are in my GPS. Snowmobiles get 2 lane roads for trails and I get 50 inches but now that those are routes and connected it should be worth riding the shoulder of the road for 20 miles to get there.
I know how concerned you guys are about my condition, and how I actually fell and this is as close of an example as I could find.
Notice the angle of the dirt rid'her!! It's that angle, I can't stop looking at, that, and perhaps had we both fallen together, the dirt rid'her could have softened my blow....I mean the blow, well something I'm sure about a blow, would have certainly eased my pain, in fact just looking at that angle there has helped me immensely, I almost feel much better already! well you get the ''picture'', right, now get your dirty minds back to my condition!....remember me! the guy here with the pain....hello, stop looking at my description! lol
Don't get caught letting your wifes see my description, they may not get the ''picture''....as I'm sure you guys do lol Now what were you guys saying about my pain again....hello!
If I wasn't such a perfect gentleman I might say something about a hot chick riding my hog, then tell you that I never owned a motorcycle. But I won't do that. I landed about the same but with my left elbow tucked under and smashed my ribs against my arm. I would have been a lot better off hitting the ground flat and having the impact spread out. I may not have cracked my ribs at all if the force wasn't concentrated in a smaller area. Hey knucklehead! If you won't listen to me, listen to Dr. Ken. He wants you to heal up now so you can ride, not keep hurting from not giving your body time to heal until winter then sit around the house wishing you could have rode all summer.
I fell just like that young lady did, but with panties on, after the quad started rolling over, then as soon as i hit the ground, the wheeler pounded its rear fender down onto my ribs, almost simultaneously, had the fender been metal it would have chopped me in half, since it hit me so hard, then knocking the wind out of me, causing it hard to catch my breath, which seemed like forever! while I was fighting at the same time to crawl out from under the, now upside down 800# beast of a paperweight! It was a one, two, three punch all within seconds! I highly advise, to stay away from Little 0, calling it A BIG NO instead! I wasn't even going that fast, fortunately, since it might have caused even more damage to me and the wheeler! I've ridden hard and many long hrs, many times a year, since 86, and have never rolled a quad before, i still can't figure out how it could have happened, cruising as slow as I was doing! Very dangerous place! I know those 11'' front tires were the main reason for causing the tires to spread out at over 51'' to catch the deep motorcycle trail ditch! The entire 40 mi trail, is like this, like trying to ride a big quad in a deep ditch with steep sides! I finally slept good last night, never rolled over all night long, but once I had to roll over to get up OUCH! first the roll, then the pain trying to set up, then again trying to stand! How much longer is this going to feel this way! I got some riding to do, as soon as Mr Kymco can get his, rear in gear lol Or should I say to get his gear in the rear of that big *** motorhome! Hoping to meet up again, same place, at the rest area.
St Helen again? until we can figure out more of these other areas, at least we know everything there is to know about those trails! After I get these last fence sections out and replaced, I'm taking the rest of the week, to rest up then lol I'll be ready! get ready! Season will be over again before you know it! Let's try to stay longer this trip, and relax more, so I can make some BIG meals, over a campfire!! Just remember to try and not push me on the trails so hard, allow me to sleep in until I get ready to awaken on my own, and don't ask to eat out so often, we can eat more in camp....yum....camp food good! good chow!
If I remember correctly, it was you wanting to eat out all the time. In fact, I had the MH refridge full of food and had planned to eat in camp! In reality I guess eating out for just 2 people is probably much easier.
I have my butt in gear but mother nature wont stop raining on my parade... Need to get some electricle problems fixed, and doing that in the rain just aint gonna happen!
I'm just getting back inside, got the fence....DONE!! So is my back and side!! lol Hope it will make me sleep again, knocking me out!! lol
I was joking ya, I know I bug too much about eating out too much, and hitting the accelerator too much, and getting up way too early, but I'm gonna keep all that down to a minimum this trip, for sure! Taking everything EASY!!!!! Man that sounds good right about now!
The hardest part of this whole fence job wasn't dragging all them fence sections all around the house, Wasn't having to bust all the old fence sections apart and lugging them away, it was trying to pull all them old fence posts out of the ground digging, chopping, busting old footings away first, then trying to pull them 8 footers out the ground, many with concrete still attached where they wouldn't bust loose!! Man that's some back breaking work....of the worse kind!! Just finished by attaching gate catches....looks real good compared to the old rotten fence from 40 yrs ago! lol
What kind of wild beasts are you keeping out with all that fencing? Preparing for an Indian attack? Had fence at our other house, put that up myself so I know what your going thru. Wouldnt want to tackle that job now at my age....rain has finally stopped, just waiting for the water to recede, can barely see over top of the grass. Hopefully it will dry up enough monday to try to get some chopped down, will probably need 3 passes to get it under control. Not looking forward to 8 hrs on a mower as it is nowhere near as fun as ridin in my buggy!
When I was a kid my dad wanted to reuse some steel fence-posts that had concrete all around the bottom. It was no fun busting that off with a sledgehammer and I'm glad I didn't have to do all of them by myself. We didn't have any safety glasses and cement chips kept hitting me in and around my eyes. Thanks dad.
Tomorrow is supposed to be mostly sunny and 68 degrees. Perfect weather for mowing. I have to pick up my neighbors' trash first and see if my mower will start. It usually takes about 45 minutes to mow with my walk behind mower if I don't let it get too long. I think this is going to take an extra 30-45 minutes. I should bag it and fill up my compost bin, then mulch it next time like I normally do. And I have to block off more holes under my fence with chunks of concrete. I think it's a skunk that keeps digging under it. Whatever it is is too stupid to walk around where the other side of my yard doesn't even have a fence.
okay yeah I wouldent really like to leave my quad either. It had been raining like crazy here too but now its clearing up. I was able to get a lot of work done on my truck yesterday and use clippers to clear most of the prickers that where over growing onto our trails since we had a day it didnt rain. Everything is far to wet to ride but at least I can get some work done now. I still havent figured out the neutral problem on my trx 450 and cant find any replacement parts online. I might need to drive 35 minutes to the nearest dealer and buy overpriced bulbs.
