Electric blanket is a great idea, never thought of that myself!! as long as your not laying damp, where you'll possibly get a ground lol 0 I mean Not funny! ha ha Don't wet the bed lol
I'm so dumb I've been sleeping in a tent for several years freezing my ***** off (of my Christmas tree ) and never thought about getting an electric blanket. I won't wet the bed but I'll get up and pee a bunch of times. The colder it is the smaller my bladder gets, or it seems like it. I bought a 100' extension cord years and years ago. I hardly ever needed that much cord and cut it in half so I have 2 50' cords. As long as I wrap the plug in the middle in plastic and tape it up I should be okay. I'd prop it up off the ground too.
Elec blanket is a good idea, but so are elec heaters. Most all have a knockover switch that shuts them off immediately if they tip over! Blanet would be better....
I know electric heaters have that knock-over switch but don't know how hot the grill on the front gets. One we had when I was a kid felt as hot as an oven rack when you're baking. With any kind of heater I think the heat would just go out the huge screened hole in the roof anyway. The rain fly would be warm but I wouldn't. I'm still thinking of getting an enclosed ATV trailer and putting some windows in. I know someone who has one with windows already in it but the last I heard he was using it for storage. Maybe I can talk him into selling it to me.
That's what a couple of my friends have, is inclosed trailers, and one just got his a week ago, and is doing just that, adding windows, heater, A/C, even undercoating, since its brand new. Got to have a window, or at least, I do, even here at home, right at my head, while I'm sleeping, for fresh air, all year long, even in the winter, with just a hairline crack at times, if wind is strong, or below freezing. Even in the van, right there too, in my face....yeah, fresh air, especially up north, a big Yes to that, there's just something special about our Mi. northern air, well after you get past the pollution you all are putting out, up there in Flint lol, smells like flint too, like the acid smell of a flint, being struck in a lighter lol Frank knows what I'm saying! He's struck/stuck there, and can't get out, Been there many times myself, since I was a toddler, with family in town there, or passing by on our way up to grandparents farm in Gladwin, Mi. but there all passed now, or cousins have moved away, last I heard. Reminds me, I still have to make a A/C mount for the front van window, to make it easy to install the unit when camping or spending the night at a Walmarts parking lol, like when driving out to see family, in Seattle, driving through the Rockies, camping at/on Big Horn mt., or Yellowstone campground! Yes Fresh air, can't beat it, especially when out camping!! Hope to have it all together by the 17th for St Helen trip, if Ken will be packed and ready by then, since weekend after that is Holiday weekend already....to busy to go then, on highways/campground/trails! Then following weekend Seattle trip, then first weekend of June have a trip planned. So I'm really looking forward to this next trip up north! Might be some time, before we can schedule another one.
Enclosed trailer is the best idea, just what I would do if it were only me or a custom van and pull my buggy in enclosed trailer. Still working on getting things ready but keep running into problems. Just not enough hours in a day for chores and gettin ready!
Me too. and your right about never enough hr's in a day! How did we do it all, back in the day, when we worked every day and still had things packed and ready, almost every weekend, and still got up to camp before dark, Fri night! With kids, quads, previsions, family dog...The Dog....loved the ride as much as all the rest of us, put together, she would nessel in my lap between my arms, with paws on handlebars, and off we went!! with her ears pinned back, from the speed, down trails, hills, mud, whoops, didn't matter, she loved it all, and there was no leaving her behind....no way! she jumped right up there, before being asked, as if to say what's keeping you guys lol
I'm pretty much ready, again! after going on my last trip! That is until I get up there, and like always it something, I forgot, but still I double check everything on my camping/atv list, faithfully, along with the misses, but it still somehow happens, where the right hands, not paying attention to the L! lol
Is the mo-home a hum'min? sxs a kic'ken? trail maps loaded in their slot? Don't forget to fuel up whenever gas $$ happens to fall, if they ever will! before the trip! I'll fill up too, if that happens? lol Cost way more on freeway, going up there!
Yeah we own 10 acres and about 3 acres of that is all grass to be mowed. last year we got a new Torro zero turn with a 52" cutting deck. It still takes us around 1.5 hours to cut our entire lawn and it took even longer the first time. And then the rest of the 10 acers is mostly woods and trails besides two ponds that we have. I spent a couple hours clearing prickers away from the trail the other day and still have a lot of trail maintenance to do. Not exactly sure why I do all the work rather than my two brothers helping since they use the trails too but oh well.
Lol that sounds just like my dog with car rides. He always begs to come along and love car rides. He used to chase us around and follow us when we rode quads but he started doing dumb things like running right in front of us and stopping. We always slam on the brakes but he still managed to get hit a couple times and it got kinda annoying. He also starting running around the the houses next door and he dosent get along with their dogs so we have to keep him inside now.
First things first....I would love to help, any time! with that grass trimming, I would bring over these new tires w/ quad attached, and start near the homestead, then plow my way back and forth taking that grass way below the root system lol You won't need to worry about who would ever have to cut it again! lol Then I'd hit them trails, and woods you got there, and create some great burms, hills, whoops, mud pit areas....yahoo! You are such a lucky dude!
Yeah my pup was the same way, about wanting to go with us, all the time, and most of the time, how could I say no, spoiling her? lol With that look, like saying, I'm family too lol Your also right about them hiding around the vehicle, and then one morning, I was running late, with my son, about to head of to work with me, when I took off in a hurry, and ran her over....killed me! Loved her deeply, wherever I went anywhere, she was there with me, and I believe what happened was, she probably was going pee behind my tires, thinking she had more time, since I rarely ever ran that late, but caught her off guard, but even after the accident, she still turned to look at me, before leaving us, as if to say goodbye, I really believe that! I can't get that pic of her, out of my head! Still hurts thinking back, but the great times, out way that horrible few seconds, she had a great life with us, even at nearly 10 yrs young! Sorry never intended on starting the day on a sour note....now go out and tear up them trails, after school, that is lol and love them pets every day, while we're privileged to have them!
