Getting ready for Nemadji
#1
My buddy and I are gtting a trip together to Nemadji State Forest. We have ridden this area before and I do have a map but I am always looking for suggestions of hotspots to ride. Are there any places in the forest that we should make sure to go to? Are there any places on all the Potlach land that we just should not miss?

Somebody in central Minnesota was spreading rumors last weekend that the Nemadji was officially closed to ATV's. I find this alarming but it could be true, since officially the Nemadji is closed unless posted open.
Does anybody have the real information on this.

atvam lists it as open and even talked about some expansion. The last time some of my riding club members went there. they found many areas posted closed by land owners. It seems they tollerate snowmobilers, but dont like the atvs in the summer. I think the dnr and atv clubs will need to create some alternate routes or the trail will die. I have also heard that that system could end up being closed to atv's at a latter date. I do understand it is still open and mabe on the south end is best, the north end seems to be where the trouble is. you may find some changes when you get here. Our club may not go to this trail any more unless changes are made.
I ride on lots of potlatch land that has some good riding but they are not designated trails. Just logging roads. stay on those roads and they will continue to let us or if we start tearing up there woods, I could see them posting there land some day. thats all.
I have a little used 11 mile trail on potlatch land that is right across the road from my 20 acres. I even opened it up this spring by going in with my chain saw and clearing any downed timber that was over the road.
