If you guys need rooms, I need to know. I have quite a few for that weekend, but they have been filling up fast.

I only have 2 for this weekend and there isn't even anything going on.

I can always fix up the outfitters room. Sleeping in a treestand on the floor isn't all that bad unless Sark has a bear hanging.

Welcome to MI and roger on dumping the Toy for a F250! Make sure it's a SuperDuty! Ford just built the million'th SuperDuty, and the armed forces are going to be adopting a F350 version pretty soon. I'm from a GM family in a GM town in a GM county (Genesee), and Ford's SuperDuty is the best truck out there right now. Waiting to see what Dodge will bring out in 2003 for a HD truck.

 

What things does the F250 have over the gm 2500HD ?

You are right, that 250SD is NICE!!! I am just a little worried on how well it will hold up. I have had 2 Toyota's with 100K worth of miles and NEVER had to take one to the shop. That is pretty tough to beat!
That 0% financing by Ford is making me think hard about a new Diesel 250 however!
Hope to see you all on the trails soon as I get my quad up here!

I dont think you can go wrong either way, both those 250's make my 97' F-150 4x4 Lariat look small. I would go with the BETTER DEAL 0% and all (both toys will suck your wallet pretty good)and I personally am LOYAL TO NONE!!! I do have 70,000 miles on mine with no service record as of yet and have done some serious off road riding with it. Plus it holds the quad, son's kx80 and alum. ramp to boot. My only complaint is with those crappy rotors Ford produces, just dropped $575 on a brake job (rotors ,calipers you know the game). Well as any of us would say around here, anything but a Toyota truck, lol, (just kidd'n). Hey you can't complain about any vehicle giving you a faithful 100,000 miles. Good luck shopping (test drive them all, look around, someone will give you a good deal with these latest events in the economy)

My '87 Dodge B250 has 180,000+ miles and still goin'. Starting to get a little miss, I suspect electrical. Could be wrong. But she takes my trailer and two quads all over the place. Did have a flat one time--on the trailer...

Powerstroke diesel has a 100,000 mile warranty, and gets 20 mpg unloaded. Check out www.ford-diesel.com in the forum section under Super Duties. After you get your SD, we'll head to Silver Lake for some dune action! (I got 10' of air with mine 3 years ago, accidently)

Rule 1 in a GM town is never buy a product the first year it's out; the final testing is usually done by the customer. It's been that way ever since I was a kid. For those of us that offroad, the Ford's solid front axle with hubs beats the IFS w/ center axle disconnect system of the GM boys. Also, if you take a look a new GM HD from the side about rub strip height, you will notice that the frame hangs WAY down, begging to get hung WAY up, usually in the middle of no where. Ford runs with overhead cam motors, GM still uses pushrods (think 1950's). Ford's cab is wider for true 3 wide seating. Ford's diesel is from Navistar (think big rig), GM's diesel was designed by Isuzu (think ???????). Oops, I'm rambling. Anywho, after careful consideration (of the $3000 I'd save from my GM employee discount) I went with the V-10 Super Duty and have been extremely satisfied.
