Thanks for the info. My dakota has the 4.7L V-8 with the factory towing package. I am looking to get either a 16ft v nose or the 7x14 enclosed trailer. I am hoping to keep the total trailer and cargo under 4000lbs, so I shouldn't have any trouble pulling it. I am leaning toward the double axle with brakes to aid in stopping. I am not so worried about the ability of the truck to get up and go, as stop on a dime, especially when wet.

I have a 14x7 dual axcel (with brakes) Pace Enclosed trailer. I pull this trailer with a 1999 Dodge Dakota V6 3.1
trailer weight 2400lbs Truck is rated at 5500lbs I am also at about 4000lbs with 2 ATV's and all the camping gear
