Just a little off topic but I just got this email today. I don't know why I got it but here are the details. Anyone who wants the full document (566k), just email me at himem_sys@hotmail.com and I will send it. The document says this is the last day to register but I was told there are openings left. I think this is a good sign for PA riders. Well.... at least I think it shows that they are trying to improve the quality of the trails we ride on. It says this course is for designers and maintenance people. I think if you call you should still be able to get in.

This course will focus on the design and proper maintenance of motorized trails balancing the interests of ATV riders and the need to properly protect the resource. Participants will spend 1 ˝ days actually on the Rocky Gap ATV Trail in small groups traveling by ATVs. A combination of classroom and hands on learning will provide participants with practical learning experience.

For attendees who are not already certified ATV riders, the three-day workshop will begin with an optional ˝ day safety-training course to become certified for ATV riding.

For all participants who are certified, Day two will begin with a morning of classroom instruction covering the latest administrative ATV issues: funding, partnerships, ATV law revisions, user conflicts, trail management, and more…

In the afternoon of day two and all day on day three, participants will continue with their training at the Rocky Gap Trail Head at the Allegheny National Forest. Participants will ride to specific sites on the trail to analyze and evaluate environmental concerns (such as soil erosion), trail design issues and problems, signage, risk management, maintenance standards and concerns, different types of riding experiences, and much more.
