Tughill new york
Unlawful use of an ATV on public land. The judge agreed with us 100% and apoigized for the inconvenience and through it out of court. Officer LaBaff knew he was in the wrong with the whole matter as he didn't even show up at court. After the incident took place we went into the bar where we had parked the trucks to discuss the happenings of the day. There was a lot of people in there from the area. They were telling us the problems that they have with the law harassing riders. They told us that there was a poker run held in the area earlier that spring and the local law got wind of it and the law harassed them all day long.
The place to ride is Quebec. Great trails ,great people, some of the best riding found. The locals and the law welcome ATVs. We went on a ride in Qubec not too long ago. We had a new rider from NY go with us to Quebec and he made a coment to me when he say the police pull in front of our group of riders going down a road with his flashing lights on. His coment was "When you see police in New York you know that you are going to get a ticket but here in Canada they give you a police escort to the next trail and wave you on with a smile. Even the locals see you waiting to cross a road and they will stop trafic so you can cross safely. What a place to ride!
Sorry about the long winded responce but my opinion is that New York is ANTI ATV and all they want is your tax and registration money and do nothing for the for the sport in return. They take our money and buy up more land, call it state land but don't you dare use it!
Sorry if I steped on any toes but this is my opinion!
