Me and my crew will probably be there. We usually only go for the day as we are looking for a camper. If you see a 03 LE raptor with a blue warrior and red/black blaster, that is us. We stay around the trails off of 597, which is down a bit from the campgrounds. Since we don't make it that far up, can you tell me anything good about the trails near there?

My dad lives in Floral City and we go down there once a year. This year I'm riding Windrock Tennessee and then heading down to Florida to visit. If the trails are awesome in Ocala I will start bringing my ATV everytime I go down. Where is the trailhead in Ocala?

Hey Erik. We're looking to go somewhere that weekend. Ocala sounds good. Never been there but we've been wanting to check it out. You can be our guide.
Where do you live? We're in Broward.
What's the deal with Croom also? I see that you can't take ATVs over 500 pounds. I've got a Big Bear which is officially like 520 lbs. Can't ride a Big Bear at Croom? I had to pay the freaking state registration fee. Doesn't seem right that I can't ride at a state park because I'm 20 lbs. heavier than another ATV.

Sounds like fun, but my camping gear isn't complete yet at this point either, so it might be a one day's drive. Its about 2.5 hrs from sarasota to get there, not including creeping along the rutted road to get to the campground =] (helps to have a truck).
Regarding Croom, I asked the same thing a long time ago. They are in the process of changing the weight limit to 7 or 800lbs this year, but you will get no hassle. I ride my prairie 650 there a few times a month.
