why do you want to do salamanca ?
i thought it sucked-takes all day to ride 30 miles
too many people on a one lane trail and it was nothing but mud all the way(not that mud is bad)
4,000 quads was too much.
i heard they weren't going to have anymore(not sure if this is true)
plus this was a 3hr drive one way just for 30 miles of trail.
cost twenty bucks to ride and five bucks to park.
i'm not rushing back to do this ride again.

Harleyguy, the Cochranton Poker Run, in Cochranton PA is the biggest poker run in the world. The dirtbikes go on the last Saturday in March, and the Quads/Three Wheelers go on the 1st Saturday in April. It was cancelled last year- I hope their going to have it in 2003 but I'm not sure- their internet site doesn't say for sure. If they do have it, I would suggest being one of the first ones to leave the start line in the morning or wait to be one of the last groups to leave....the "traffic jams" in the woods can get like a 1/2 mile long sometimes!!! I don't know about other people but I think the Salamanca Run is one of the best I've been on. Not sure when it is but I'll let you know if I find out.

Cochranton, PA is in northwestern Pennsylvania-- it's roughly 40 miles south of Erie, Pa (straight shot down I-79). Well worth the trip if they have it. One Question for you, Where is Brasher Falls, NY and is it a good poker run???

There is not going to be a run this year at Cochranton. check over at Paatving.com for more information. I have not been to Salamanca for 2 years, but I think one of the reasons it was so busy last year was because there was no Cochranton.

Yah, Salamanca was very crowded last year mostly because there was no Chocranton ride and everyone was itchen to ride. Typically Salamanca see's 1000 to 1200 machines at the most. I've been riding Salamanca since 1990 and it' still my favorite.
