You and I like to look at the same shops. I wondered why they pretty much stopped selling the Bombs?

Ragged since we are taking our usual beating, now might be a good time to remind the folks...go ahead and show 'em our motto...

hey ol ski bum....I do more product testing than you give me credit for buddy....lol......I have riddin all the bikes you guys have with the exception of the bomb....I rode the yami. the suzuki the kow. and the honda......the honda was the only thing that came close to being verry impressive....but when our ol buddy Jay took us to canfield and we were riding in the rainy wet slippery muddy steep rocky cragy crap....you couldnt have got me on that 3 wheel drive bike...but the power was definiatly impressive anlong with the ride.....

When it came to the Suzuki....its realy not even fair to try and compair the ride and power to the 500 sportsman....The Vinson is a good bike Im sure and it seems to be dependable....but....Its suspention is the same stuff they put under bikes 10 years ago...and it feels like it....when climbing verry difficult off camber stuff the independant rear suspention will run circles around a straight axle....the power again is good and it is a verry fast excelerating bike and light....(if light is a good thing...but I dont buy that argument) ....but thats the best I can say.....the new King realy seemed to have some good things I liked but realy only riddin one once and it was a flat ground so cant really speak to it fairly...my guess is I would be a pretty good bike if could depend on it to run when you needed it to...its a new bike and its going to take a while to get the bugs worked out...

but to make a long story short....you guys are the best test ridders there are....Pastor must have gone thru 3-4 bikes in the last few years each one when he bought it was rated the 1# quad in its class....by what ever ATV rag is out there....but...one after anouther....they got sold or traded because he was satisfied....

then theres Jay....I thought he had a pretty decient bike....but....he just wasnt happy with 3 wheel drive and what ever else....so he bailed ship to looking for the bike that would satisify him....

I dont know how many other guys are bouncing around from brand to brand ....but....there is one MAJOR differance....Im on a Polaris....and I am completly 100% satisfied.....and every time I ride a competitive bike it only makes me even more confident in the brand.....TRUST ME......your not the first guy that thinks Im wear poo goggles .....every one I ride with wants me to get on there bike cuz there so sure of what they have.....(and there are alot of good bike out there ) ...so I get to ride ALOT of competitive brands.....the funny thngs is .....after they ride my poo....its them switching brands not me.....lol....except ol Pastor.....the only reason he isnt on a poo right now is spite....lol.....he refuses to admit it and hear the those cutting words...."I told ya so"....

alot of people will buy a bike on price and what they feel they need outta a 4 wheeler.....Thats not my gig...I want the best bike money can buy....thats why me and ol 800Twin ride what we ride....$9000 aint cheep.....but you pay for quality ...and if money and the issue you may as well ride the best ....but ...if money is a issue there alot of good bike out there that do a great job for what they cost....

BTW.....Jay and Pastor wont ride with me any more.....thats why I havent riddin the bomb yet......I even promised them I wouldnt say ...I told ya so.....

Actually I only got rid of one of the Hondas. Never ever had a problem with the provervbial "3" wheel drive, and only swithched to the Bomb because I've always liked power. If Honda comes out with an 80 horse Rincon, I would gladly be back to having two Rincons. My Hondas were great.

Heavy IS a bad thing unless you want a farm implement. Basic laws of physics. I got a 4.0 GPA two quarters in a row in physics and I could explain it to you, but then you would just say "Polaris Rules" anyway, so never mind.

Ragged...The real and ONLY reasons I didnt get the 800 SP was the service history and the weight of the machines.
True, I have been through alot of bikes, but that is only because they keep coming out with better ones. The Bomb DOES have a few shortcomings, notice I said few...as Jay DeeCoy stated...he wanted the power well, these monsters have it and more. Also, the ride is the most comfortable that I have ridden, the only thing that I have noticed about the Bomb that strikes me as unusual is that they make "different" noises than my Suzuki's did. Nothing to worry about I'm told but it takes a little getting used to. I really don't have any brand loyalty...I am after the best...the Bomb "blows away" any Suzuki product that I have ever had (Vinsons, King Quads). There is some thing that attracted me to take a look at Polaris and it is their toughness...but, in the end it wasn't enough for me.

Ragged, maybe we could hook up this weekend for a ride. In fact, maybe some of the other guys here would be up for something.

Ragged, I have no doubt that you have ridden several other machines, what I do question is if you rode them objectively or with a bias. Judging from your Polaris cheerleading I would have to guess biased.

As far as suspension goes, there are pros and cons to both system. First off, the irs is pretty old technology too, remember Suzuki was the first one to come out with it on the old King, not to mention the Corvettes in the 60's had it. I didn't care for the tippy feeling they all had in 03, and liked the sra solidness better. It works better for cornering on the fire roads, and is less tippy on the side hills. There are time when I think the irs would be nice, but mostly it's when I am going down a bumpy road and it's just a comfort thing. Also there are a lot more parts to break on irs, like joints. The sra is simple, but tough. At least Suzuki gives you the choice of which system you want. I am interested in how the Bomb system works, it looks like a great system that eliminates the tire scrub inherent in the traditional irs system.

As far as weight goes, surely it must be obvious that if you add a couple hundred pounds it forces your suspension to work harder, therefore causing more wear and tear. Then there are those times like this weekend when we had to muscle our quads around by hand, something I wouldn't want to do with a heavier quad. Also, if you have a higher center of gravity, weight can be a very bad thing. If you still don't have a concern about weight then how about you lay down with a box on your chest and I'll start adding weight to the box. When we get to 600 lbs I'll ask you if you want me to keep going to 750 lbs and we'll see how you feel about it.

I should mention that when I was shopping I did look at Honda too. The things I didn't like about them were the thumb shifting thing, really seemed awkward to me, and the lack of ground clearance and travel. Of course the biggest thing was the price. Have you seen the Canadian trails edition? $9000 for a 500! That is unbelievable! And they still have two inches less clearance than a Vinson.

Ragged........I would have never thought Jay would say it

Coming out the closet is the first step Jay.. Hehe..

Now if we could get Pastor to say it!!

Printing the page now and going to get Jays quote framed!

LOL

God I love flipping you crap Jay!

I am not brand loyal either.. I have ridden other brands of bikes also. They are all good machines. But when it comes to the Poo brotherhood its fun to give Jay and Pastor guff.

Oh yeah.. Havent got the chance to tell everyone.. Went on 2 different rides the last 2 weeks.. Will get the pics posted here after a bit and tell yall how and where we went..
First ride we went about 130 miles and the last one we went about 80 miles.

Best money I have ever spent in my life.. ATV'ing is such a kick.. My daughter thinks the Polaris is hers now... Go goes in the garage with me and gets on the Poo and pretends she is riding it.. Pretty funny kid...

Looks like dad is going to be buying her a little 90 in a few years! How old do you have to be to be able to ride a 90? Is it by weight or age?

And yes Jay, I will let you ride the 90 so you can see how it matches up against the Bomb.. Ragged there we will have another converter to the Poo...

Viper65...where did you go riding? 130 miles sounds like a long ride. Just the kind I like! Thanks...and oh...don't wait around for me to say Polaris rules...unless you mean Polaris rules at the repair shop!

I think riding a Polaris gives brain damage. Like does Ragged remember who he FOLLOWED all day when we went to Canfield? I'll give you a hint. It had "3 wheel drive" and was capable of doing a wheelie. It also never got stuck. And Viper65, surely you remember being stuck IN MY TRACKS while I repeatedly rode the Bomb around and around you in the fresh snow. Brain damage I say,,,,Brain damage.

I can't wait to get this stinking kitchen done so I can go riding with these lesser quads.
