Dalton Industries clutch kit. If you call speak to Dale. I think he runs the joint. Awesome customer service and shipped via FedEx from Nova Scotia. www.daltonindustries.com
Feels almost like riding a manual shift when you are cruising trails 20-30MPH average (most of those "trails" near Fourth of July are roads closed off to vehicles. Less hesitation, tremendous power in low range, better engine braking. The kit is designed to bring back the power lost with bigger tires, but he and I thought it would beneficial with stock 25's at high altitudes. When the stock Dunflops wear out plan on going to 26's. Not sure which yet, but would like a good trail/dirt tire that would also work better in snow than stock. Everyone on this forum is swearing by Mudlites or Titans, but I hardly see mud. As you know, the trails around here are dusty or just mountain dirt on the steeper trails.
Had an EPI in my previous Polaris 2 stroke, but it wasn't much better than stock.
Guess there is a big ride at 4th of July this coming weekend with the Back Country ATV clubbers. Sounds like a good group to hook up with.
Did you ending up riding a road "413" I think, going north of Bumblebee? That is the one we came down. Sounds like you found some better actual "technical" trails than we did.
Am planning on camping the weekend of the 15th, perhaps finding a spot towards Lake Elsie. Haven't ridden there yet, but a couple of buddies say it's incredible and actual trail riding for us ATVers.
Am guessing if I'm not tearin' up the snow in 4WD I can get about 100 miles to a tank on this Vinson.

Man if there are trails for the quads Lake elsie is HUGE! I ride sleds there and its one of the spots that hade me scared highmarking cuz it was a drop in bowl and I was having a hard time climbim out!! And im on a 03 Vertical escape!
I would like to try that its not far from were we rode saterday...as a mater of fact ..I took a few pics of that area from the top of a mountain near the campground...still ALOT of snoe over there...It might be better to hiy in a month or two...
Back Country ATV might be a good ride to hook up with to try and find some new areas...I might just go....you goin??

Ragged . . . why do you ask those types of questions? Lets forget about accronyms and names and go play. . . it will be much better that way! For the rest of every one, I earned a name many many moons ago when I go a little trigger happy on a hunting trip and it seems to have stuck around. To those who hunt I am known as the "Great White Poacher" No there are not any implications to that, its just a name!
Now thats over, Ragged lets go and hit the trail!

AJC ~ did you happen to look at what Heel Clicker had to offer? I had some installed and I noticed more low end torq and off the line speed but not a whole lot of change in the top end. I would be curious to do a side by side comparison of Dalton and Heel Clicker.

Well, it's 05/05/04 and I am off work for a week. I don't have to work tonight because I gave one of my shifts to Nancy, (another one of my poor Polaris riding friends, and also a Respiratory Therapist at Sacred Heart). I am free to ride with whoever. Call Me 922-3070, cell #220-0993. Jay

Another North Idaho Quader checking in, my whole corner of our neighborhood has quads. We just had a great time up at the Country Lane Resort weekend before last up past Bumblebee on the Cd'A river. The ride was put on by Cd'A Polaris, some good times where had...

After reading many reviews I just stuck with Dalton. I was under the impression Heel Clicker was Polaris only. There is no helix in a Vinson. The kit was a 2ndary spring and new bushings for primary. There are pics on their website, as every application is different.
Well if you could see that much snow from Bumblebee there is way too much to ride. Probably the same as Moon Pass. I've gone up near Memorial Weekend and still a lot of trails with too much snow, so maybe we'll bag that idea and go north. May check out around North or South Baldy.
This weekend I'm doing some painting and will probably be out of town for Mom's Day.
Speaking of snow, I've got a like new 50" Moose Plow, hand control, mounting bracket for 02 Vinson that mounts using the footrest bolts that I'll sell for $300. If anyone is interested, just PM me.

Hey guys, how is it going, I haven't been able to go riding for a bit since my schedule has been kinda messed up by work and school. Right now it seems I work every weekend and the days off I have during the week I have school in the evening. I will try to keep tracks of rides and make it when I can.
