Hey Steve , Arron , Jay.......Where did you guys ride this weekend??

We had a great ride...first time Ive had promlems finding trails that were easy enough for the wife! It was great! So after a good loging road ride with the wife and kids ..me and my buddy took off for some exploring on the "TRAILS"... sweet rugged climbing...it was good stuff but we ran outta daylight....Did get to see a cool little blond phase black bear! Never seen one before....or any bear that could run that fast!!

Launched at Fourth of July parking lot. There were about 5 guys there unloading from the Post Falls ATV club called High Country or Back Country?. Said we were welcome to ride with them but they took off before us. They were heading in with chainsaws to clear some existing trails. The first guy I talked to, whome I think was Bill Smith headed the ATV parade in Post Falls I saw on the news awhile ago. Looks like a good club to be a part of. Said there was a big ride next weekend starting at the same place.

Tons of trails, a few of which we couldn't make due to too much snow, but after awhile we found the way to Bumblebee so went looking for you Ragged, but got to a "5 mile" sign which I assumed meant 5 miles to Bumble campground or the freeway and were below a half tank so had to turn back Sun around 5 PM. That is a great area, so now that we know how to get there we can just go straight there next time. There are also trails that go clear to Wolf Lodge area. The area along CDA river had tons of great camping spots.

Clutch kit works great with stock tires. Can't wait to wear these out and get some 26'ers. Feels more like a manual tranny without as much hesitation as the usual auto. Went a total of 80 miles after a lot of time in 4WD digging through miles of snow and still had a little gas left out of a 5 gallon tank. Met up with a couple on a Polaris 700 twin and they had gone 30 miles through the same stuff and had to head back at a half a tank!

Hopefully we can hook up soon now that we know where we're going! What kind of stuff did you find around the Kingston area?

 

We found snow up high also....Seems like plenty of trails...only got to check out a couple cuz the wife isnt in to the vertical narly washed out mountain climbs..ya know what Im sayin??

We are going to try and get back out there the weekend of the 15th so put it down...Im hoping to have a few more from church coming also...We gotta pretty good groop of ridders...as crazy on the quads as they are for Jesus!!....
on the trail ya got the winch to get ya outta trouble..spiritually you got prayer....hmmmm...I think Ive had to use both to get me outta trouble on the quad....whats that about! LOL!!

Well Well Well, I am finally getting out here to see what is going on. Sounds like you has some fun this weekend. I will do what I can to get out on the 15th but since we got us a house now, my "honey do" list is long. Can you send any pics from Rathdrum Mt? I need to build me a pic's page and you the one who takes em. . . . by the way do you have any pics that don't show me stuck? Hey is anyone doing any riding for memorial weekend?

 

I posted pics on my page here, but I guess they have to be approved before they appear. They should show up soon as I made sure not to put up any pics of Polaris owners crying or anything like that. heehee. The moderator would probably edit that sort of thing.

Anyway, I get off work Thursday morning at 0730 and will be off work for six days. If anybody wants to go riding, I'm in. Yes Ragged, "Stuck" comes from my jeep'n days. Just like now I was known to push the limits and when I got stuck I did a good job at it. As far as playing anytime soon. . . as you said I now have my own four walls to care for and a instant mile long honey do list! I have a remodel of the down stairs that is going to start in 3-4 weeks and will be busy untill that is done. I am planning on camping and riding memorial weekend, but you have family in town. I may try to take the collar off to play on the 15th but that remains yet to be seen. As for the expanded metal try Pacific Steel 535-1673. They are a recycling joint and would probably be the cheapest place to get any expanded metal. If you want to pay "new" priced Home Depot or Lowes has it in their sheet metal sections. . . just saw it there last night but didn't look at the price.

 

Thanks GWP...( what in the world does that stant for!!).....I priced a Polaris brush guard ..$159 less10% If I get that I will have a place to weld the expanded metal to.

AJC...What kinda clutch kit did you put in?? GWP put in the heel klickers...Im real close to going that way my self...I want a quicker throttle responce and better low end power...
