Anyone else up for the 19th? Sounds good to me. Start at the bottom of Moon pass, over to Champion creek, across the top to St. Regis basin, down to Stevens lakes trail, up to Stevens peak, down to Copper creek, up to Gold pk, over Red Oak and back to the trucks. I'm in.

Some friends from the other forum are coming over from the West side of the state. They asked me to take them up the Elsie way. So that's where we're heading on the 19th. Elsie, then loop around toward Silver Mt.

I do want to ride with you guys! It's just that we have been to that area several times this year already. These guys havn't been past Elsie yet (no much so on previous trips). They coming along way so I'm obligated to oblige. We could head over that direction though. Perhaps we could meet up at Moon Pass or something?
Of course that would mean conquering the side hill on trail 16....

Ragged, I read your review of the Bomb with interest and was impressed with your overall fairness of the bike. With that being said, i would like to make a comment. The reason why the Polaris felt more "solid" in the steering is really no secret: an extra 200 lbs. of weight in the bike! While un decided about which bike to buy; I was VERY impressed with the overall feel of the Polaris 800. What ultimately tipped the scales for me was the weight and the mis-representation by Polaris industries as to engine size. the 800 is really not an 800 at all (a true 760cc's). Other than that the Polaris is the smoother of the 2. The Outlander is the
"animal" of the 2 bikes. In Big-Bore machines: power is everything. The Outlander's power out put is at least 25 H.P. over the Polaris. That makes a huge difference in real world situations. Also, 3 year warranty with the Bomb.

How difficult are the trails around Elsie? I have not been there and was thinking of taking the wife and kids up there for some riding. My wife and I each take a kid on the ATV with us so anything too crazy isn't a good idea. Any input you guys have would be appreciated.

The trails are not at all difficult. The one very off-camber section we rode through last time, was handled by each rider going through very slowly with several other riders hanging onto his racks so that there was no chance of a spill. Ragged brought his son and we just had him walk through that section while his dad rode his quad. You could do the same with your wife. The views are worth the work for sure.

Cool deal, thanks JayDeeCoy. I'll run it past the "Boss" and see what she thinks. I've heard it is a great scenic ride from a few people so I thought it was likely worth it.
