anyone ride in nor-cal?
I went to knoxville on sunday - sucked. There is a three hour drive to get there (from davis - a little further for you). Once we were there, the trails are not marked, and I was stopped (not ticketed - thank you sheriff) for riding on a dirt road that was 10 miles form the highway. There are alot of gates and private lands throughout the forest. I suppose if you had a map which showed exactly which trails you could ride on and which you couldn't, it would be OK. Still - stonyford is about 45mins. closer and the trails there are very well marked. If you do go to knoxville - the upper entrance road is NOT legal to ride on. There are no signs telling you that! I'm not sure about the lower entrance.

Let me rephrase that about knoxville - maybe not 3 hours - but it was at least 2. There are several ways to get there - I hit I-5 to lower lake, then down to knoxville. Some find it faster to use hwy. 16 or another route. I think it was the whole sheriff issue (green sticker, spark arrestor, sound test) that pissed me off most. I didn't know that they could ask for registration at any time - who carries their registration with them when they go riding? I will now...
