2003 wolverine with loud engine

is it normal for the engine to be loud at 1/2 to full throttle. it only does this in 5th gear. it just doesnt sound right.

My wolverine does that also some times and it sounds like sportbike when I rev it but I think It's cool cause freakout other riders
