Diablo
Back in the mid 90's when I did my Warrior putting on a pipe, filter and jetting made a small difference. By small I mean it could beat a stock one but was not noticable "by the seat of the pants". You will need to put a cam and piston in it to "feel faster". This was my experience and then that wasn't enough so I got the 435 kit from FST. HTH

easteregg,

hey thanks for the advice. Just wondering, how much improvement did the 435 kit make, and more then likely I'll probably need to rebuild if I go that route? Once again, thanks.

The 435 kit wouldnt need a rebuild since it is one pretty much, it gives you a new bore and a new piston. It costs alot though. I agree though, I didnt feel much when I piped mine. I just didnt want to argue with all the people who swear it adds a whole new feel. Also, all the pipes are severely overpriced.

Either way you go you will have a new piston, rings and a fresh cylinder. You need to remember it was 94 when I did this so things may have changed as well as forgot.

The kit came with a piston, sleeve, HD clutch and a longer rod or a you modified the crank I can't remember which. Thats was it back then for $600 or $700. These parts give mostly torque. You need to make it breath better to get the HP up. Which is where the Warrior suffers the most.

I would recommend the following for great all around performance gains without splitting the cases (not fun).
A pipe (not sure whats the best now I had Supertrapp)
K&N and open the airbox
10.25 to 1 piston (stock or over bore depending on your needs)
A WB woods cam (or mild cam not full race)
HD valve springs (a must with the cam)
A 3 angle valve job, port & polish the head and match the intake (expensive but is worth it)
Lighten the fly wheel (builds rpm's quicker)
I used the stock 36mm carb (jetting ?)

I had all this done to mine before I put the 435 kit in with 15- 39 gearing and to be honest I liked it better. Mostly because the power was different, after it took longer for the power to come on.

I raced a few hare scrambles and ice raced with it and it would hang with 250R's that were piped only anything else though and it still wasn't enough.
