Hey DaBeechMan,
Some people dont see the sense of putting $10000 into a motor either. Also some people dont have the time and money. I am very happy with my DS650 with the way it performs, I have yet to be beaten by anything by me. Not many people have quads by me either, but I hope u see the sense of my first point.

... Does the quad just die out in power when you start to hit the higher revs??? Any stumbling??? There are a few things that i can think of.. starting with the easiest 1st is the jetting... maybe you are running rich on the top end and need to move the needle up a notch or so, 2nd Valve adjustment, its a possibilty it isnt working properly, 3rd is cam timing Like some have said earlier it might not be running like it is if it is the timing but you never know. 4th thing it could be is a compression problem, you might have a leaking gasket, valves might not be sealing properly. 5th and last is you could have got a bogus port job that is causing the air to be turbulent instead of flowing smoothly. Just a side note, did you put the clutch back in there right??? is it slipping?

 

Who said i had 10k in a motor. i may have 3k total including complete bottom end, polish, crank, and cylinder. You 4-stroke guys will always have more money in your motors then us 2-stroke guys.

 

Something must be wrong. I have a Stage 1 Cam and 11-1 Piston, Piped jetted no airbox cover, and I beat my buddy's Predator pretty good. It is fast but you should be able to beat it.
