Nightmare: This shop>>>

You guys always talk of crap mechanics. Whell, listen to this story. When my raptor was new, and still under warrenty, the tranny went! So i brought the bike to my local shop to have it repaired. I dropped off teh bike, and after about 2 weeks of waiting, i call them about it, and they tell me that there sorry this machine has NO warrenty because it is a race machine. This pissed me off so i call them and tell them to look at there owner's manual of the raptors and they realize it does have a 6-month warrenty! Finally i think i'm gonna get it fixed. Next they tell me that they have to take it apart to see if it was a defect or user error...This took them so long that by the time they were able to give me an answer, my machine was out of it's 6-month warrenty!!!!! AT this point i have had no idea how to fix a tranny, so i said to them, go ahead fix it, even if yamaha isn;t gonna cover it. Ok, when they were done, It took them over 11 hours,,,, and the bill was like 1500!!! can you belive that..what a crap shop. I haven't/never will give them another cent of my money!!! Now that i can repair a tranny my self..damn it only takes like 1 hour to get the engine out, maby 5 hours to get it fixed and anotehr 1+half to get it complete!!!! damm All i am saying is to steer clear of this shop!!!

yeah, this is a dealership. What you say seems correct because they can stay in buisness with a crappy shop because they sell all other stuff. A single shop has to do a good job because teh word goes around. I tell everyone about how bad it is, and have talked over 6 people from buying bikes there, and buying acce, ect. Anyway, this is Called CAPE COD POWERSPORTS, on Capecod, MA

Yellow if you brought your bike in when it was under warranty it doesn't matter when they look at it or fix it. If you still have all the paper work I would go to Yamaha not the dealer and demand a refund on the repair.

HA!! don't you think i tried....get this Yamaha says that the shop reported the machine was destroyes, that the plastic was hanging off it, ect. So yamaha listens to the dealer over me, and says screw you, and that there is no problem with the 01' raptor trannies, even after i said i would ship then the gears and explain the defect, and i also asked why did they upgrade the tranny for 02' then? they said simply for ratio changes,,, even though we all know there is 4 dogs on the 02' and 3 on the 01's 2nd gear!!!!!
anyhow, i think the shop hated me because i diden't buy the bike there, and they knew they could get more $$$ out of if if they charged there labor rates, instead of what yamaha allows them!!! woohoo

I think you have a fight because the problem occured (while under warrenty) It exspired while at the shop. I've ran into this at a Dodge dealership and they told me it was covered because the problem happened before the warrenty was up! I would be yelling really loud and I hope you haven't payed the yet cause if you did they have you'r $$$$ and you'll never get it back. Sorry Dude good luck.

The chevy dealership did the same thing to me when my engine was bad in my new truck. The engine was burning oil like a mad man (1 quart in less than a week) and they told us they wernt gonna replace it!! So they fraeking reringed it and it still burned it like crazy and they still said they wernt gonna replace it!! We almost sued them because it was such bullsh*t but when we threated that they ended up putting a new engine in after trying to fix it 3 times! I can't believe they were gonna try to make me keep that crappy engine in a new truck!! You don't pay over 20k then have the dealer torque you around! All dealerships are the same!
