Shock Covers for works triple rate front shocks?

I had some covers on mine and the aluminum spacers (that chatter around) made a black mess that doesnt clean off wherever the cover touches the springs. I suppose the black alum residue gets trapped inside the cover. If the shocks are already old and ugly, no big deal but if they are new you might want to reconsider covers if you are concerned about looks.

i HEARD THE ONES THAT ARE A BODY SUIT MATERIAL WORK THE BEST AND DONT WEAR OUT THE PAINT O THE SHOCK..I HAVE THE SAME SHOCKS AND THEY ARE BLACK SO THE SLIGHTEST WEAR WILL SHOW...

Protecting the shaft is the ultimate goal......I just wanted to warn you that when ya remove them for servicing or something dont be surprised if they look like sh%$.......
