Default Adjusting shifter height on warrior, help quick

How is this done? I cant seem to get the linkage off of the shifter shaft so is there something else im supposed to do?

Default Adjusting shifter height on warrior, help quick

Don't touch the linkage at all. Take the bolt completely out where it bolts to the shifter shaft. Mark where the shifter was on the shaft. Pull the shifter off the shaft and move it a couple of splines...I'm assuming you are moving it up to fit your foot in there like I did. Put the bolt in and see if it's where you want it.

The first time I rode with riding boots I couldn't get out of first gear since my foot barely fit in there!
