Please help us, we can't wait anymore. You made me curious !!!! A friend of me is on the Yammie press show in Europe. He has embargo to speek, but he said its a beast. Faster than the Raptor, 55HP on wheels, Raptor has 35HP on wheels stock. It seems to be a very light machine with a top engine, 450 of the enduro machine, only two years old. The 660 motor was more than 10 years old from the old Tenere.

For some odd reason I have a feeling what you were told was a titch bit exadurated. If he's at a trade show he hasn't seen it run, how would he know if it's fast? He just heard a few of the HELLA too many rumors. Even if the Raptor engine is 10 years old it's still VERY up on times, not outdated what so ever. So they can't really build an engine more advanced than what the Rappy is just cause of tech limits while still making it afordable.

 

My friend is on the show because he writes for a german atv magazine. The show is two days. Frist day (yesterday) in the morning was technical info, no pictures, yesterday in the afternoon they saw the pictures but Yamaha said to not release it, otherwise the loose their press card for the next show. Today is the test session, from every new model, their are 20 pieces for test riding, it is in Lyon (France).

The 660 motor is here yet since 1991. The 450 motor since 2003. With research, they get much more HP out of a motor, with less cc and less weight. The 660 is 12 years old man !

Thanks for the pictures. Will be a great machine. The look of the Raptor is nicer, more aggressive but I remark stock springs with reservoir !!! Big improvement ! Now the test results against Predator, KFX 700, Raptor, Z400 !
