Beat By Banshee

Me and My buddy Just bought a Raptor ( Mine ) and a Banshee ( His ) about 3 weeks ago at the Same time. He has Road his alot more then I have Road mine. He rides is way harder also. We decided to drag them yesterday. We went to a Dirt road and I got him off the start and everything and I was ahead probably 10 quads and all of a sudden he starts catching me and then he passed me. I thought the Raptor was faster but how did he catch me and then pass me. Then we went to Pavement and He got me off the line and then when I got in second I passed him and then I was ahead by about 4 bikes and then when he got in 6th he then passed me again. We went for along time and he just started pulling away fast. Whats got better top end or whats going on with my quad. Is it because he rides his harder and his is worn in and that. I dont think mine is worn in ive been babying it. But could that be a reason. Give me some answers please Mark

Sorry dude, But all I can tell ya is stick to the shorter races. NOTHING out runs a banshee on top-end!!! nothing!! Jus tbe glad you guys are still stock and fairly close in H.P., cause when you boys started dumping money in these toys, the Banshee is only going to get STUPID fast!!!!LOL.
Do what I do, and run them sum bitchess 300 ft! LOL

did the same thing to a friend of mine the other day. He's got a Predator. He jumped off the line and pulled on me hard. Lucky for me we were on a dirt runway that was about 3/4 a mile long. I put it in sixth and blew him away. Had this race been a whimpy 300 feet. I would have lost. Keep it shorter next time.

ROTF Couldn't have put that better myself!
But I still got a little something for all but the fastest Banshees. He|| most of them I have to play catch up with (mainly due to no wheelie bar) and then I will pass them down the track. The fact remains you do have to put more $ in a 4 stroke to keep up with the ping ping boys!

Ok, There is enough bull floatin around in this thread to choke a maggot.
First of all, this talk of dollar for dollar shee beatin a raptor; That all depends on what you have spent your money on. I have some shee buddies riding (not bored but everything else imaginable) trinity and alba bikes that will tell you straight up, they can't beat me at any race, short long or otherwise. And they have a h@ll of a lot more in their bikes than I do.
Next, as for your buddy outrunning you with his stock shee, I can relate. My best friend rides a very trick 02 Banshee. When we bought our quads, he could pull me a little on the top end. However, knowing how rich my old warrior had come from the factory, I pulled the plug on my raptor. Sure enough, blacker than coal. After rejetting my carbs, my buddy couldn't touch my stock raptor on bottom, mid, or top until he had piped and jetted it. Course, once I piped and jetted mine, we were back to me being in the lead.
Lastly, I doubt we are going to see any 800 kits for a raptor. Even if you could fit that big of a jug in the frame, you would spend the rest of your time working on the tranny, clutch, rod, etc to make the bike hold up.
