$76 bucks for brakes? Brakes are about $19.95. Add all your costs up, $321. Thats the cost of the tranny parts right there. Your getting screwed. They're making you believe that Yamaha is paying for your tranny repiar, in reality, you are.

 

will dealerships really get money out of you even when they know it's not quite accurate? I'm sure the will but, what are the chances ?

There are other dealers in Richmond. You do not have to leave it at THAT dealer. Heck, for $350 my brother(matoaca) would prolly fix it for you.

Calm down. Tell the service rep that you don't think you are being treated right and that you will be in to pick it up in 2-3 days. If they don't change there tune, take it to bertrams. That would expose any lies right there.

Chill man, it's just nuts and bolts that can be fixed.

 

Profit is top priority for most dealerships. Newbies like you are easy marks. YES dealerships will lie.

Any yamaha dealer can do warranty work on your machine. Calm down.

 

yeah, i wouldn't be so angry except it's only 2 and a half weeeks old

 

thats garbage, there is obviously a factory flaw. could you even destroy the tranny in 2 weeks if you wanted to? demand satisfaction and i dont think you should have to spend a dime on what is obviosly not your fault

 

well all i have to say is they didn't put the bike together right or something because i have had my blaster for two years and i have done everything and anything u can think of to beat the **** out of it the only problem i have had are the brakes, they do suck oh yeah and tires go kinda fast also. i have even hit a deer full bore which was about 62mph didn't wreck though, rolled it down of a hill climb (bent handle bars and headlight, almost had a head on collision but i swurved so i bent both top and lower arms smashed the rim, and thats all i have had to replace. overall i think blasters are d@mn good machines.

 

Im sorry, but i have had my blaster since it was new and its a 99, I have beat the living crap outa that bike, i have jammed gears,locked brakes,endo flipped it, rolled it, raced it, and just plain out not cut it any slack period, I take care of it, its garaged kept and matience is done more than regular.... And aside from a little piston slap when its cold, its still goin strong as day one..... There is no way you can took out the entire tranny because you said you rode it back, I hate to say it but it almost sounds like your shift star or somthing of that nature is binded up...... And there is no way even if the brakes were draggin that they are worn out by now, Call them and tell them not to touch it, take it somewhere else and see what they say............

They are trying to take advantage of you man. Don't let em.

 

You deserve to pay every dime if you let them work on your bike.....


TAKE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE!

They are ripp'n you off. PERIOD.

I would take it to another dealership and then call YAMAHA direct and talk to a rep. Tell them exactly how long you have had the bike, what type of riding that you have done and then tell them what THAT dealer told you. I would do this AFTER you take it to another dealer and see what they say.

Go to the one that was recommended above by someone else.
