WHAT IS THE TOP SPEED OF THE WARRIOR?

 

The one i had would do 60ish. We didnt have advanced GPS or radars just got follwed by people in trucks. The best we got with stock gearing was 60-63+.
Now, a trick with a warrior is to reconize that its geared a little low. It will easily pull a tooth bigger on the front sprocket. I changed my front sprocket on the one I had and it would approach 70.
Not hit 70 but close. Maybe that was luck on mine b/c everybody that rode it said it handled better than their warriors, and was faster (even before the gearing change). It was totally stock other than this sprocket change.
The biggest problems I had with mine was that warriors are so front end heavy and will tire you out quicker than say a 250x/300ex/400ex. Believe it or not, they have actually attempted to fix this starting with the '90 model. Yamaha actually moved the engine back a few inches in the frame. This is also the same year they moved the lights and took away the backup recoil starter.
The lights were originally located by the front bumper. The other problem I had was when it got hot it would, like all air cooled engines, lose alot of power. Ther than those 2 things, I liked mine. It was very reliable - not quite a HONDA - but I was impressed.

 

My 98 Warrior was clocked at 65 mph i have a bg pipe on it and a spriket on it. i had my dad ride side by side with me and the had me a 65. i am sure that is pretty quick to a Warrior because they are a rather heavy bike.

Just did a speed run on my 2003 today. 61.5 mph as per my gps. My bike has the Pro intake and WB pipe. I know for a fact I'm too lean on top so others with the same combo may have a little more top speed.
