Hi everyone,
I have just about decided that my next quad is gonna be a kodiak 400 4x4. Here is the current situation: I found a '01 model with low range, automatic, 4x4 etc for 4299.00. Well, i found a close out '03 model 400 4x4 that is brand new for 4495.00. I called the place with the '01 and asked if they priced thiers right. The salesman said " well the '01 400 is a much heavier duty machine. It has low range options and the '03 doesnt. The '01 400 is really more like a '03 450 than a '03 400. that is why there is a price difference."

I have not ever laid eyes on either of these quads, or any kodiak for that matter. I wanna know if low range is standard on all kodiaks, if they have quit giving the low range feature on the '03, and what are the TRUE differences between the models.

Lookin around on ebay, the 2000 and 2001 seem to cost aroudn as much as an 03 2x4

Im comparing 2x4 03s to 4x4 01s though. If they are both 4x4 or both 2x4 there is no comparison. 03 is more. And you said they are both 4x4, so.... better o

 

He's right about the low range, but unless the '01 is in prime condition, he's overchargin'.

thanks for the ebay links. wow, 3000 for a '00 4x4 and 4200 for a '01 4x4. who would have thought there would be that much of a jump.

does anyone know if any improvements from 2000 to 2001 would justify that price difference and make the '01 that much more desirable?
