YFZ, I would wait until someone you know gets one, I have not run it in the dunes (so my opinion dosn't count there yet), but I have been running Raptors out there sence 01' and I don't have to tell you the Raptor is an awesome machine. I like racing the hills from time to time, but don't care if IM the fastest. Love running the dunes where the fastest doesn't matter (as much) as long as you can keep up, and the Raptor keeps up no problem.

Just picked one up today. I too can't wait to brake it in and ride the $hit out of it. My next (Dune) trip in Oregon isn't till late next week. Yippie, once I get a couple tanks of gas through it (broke in) will see what is does in the dunes againnst the pack (Banshee's, Raptors, DS's Etc.).
I can't wait...... It will have to sit in the garage till then.... Maybe I'll throw it a bone!
Yeahhhhhh who..... "A new toy"!......

From what I've seen/heard (here in Calif) there's not a lot of them available at the moment, and so the dealers are getting full pop for the stock on hand. I called 12-14 around here and a couple in Oregon and found stock on only 2-3 Red & White ones and (1) Blue one. They know they don't have to mark them down now as there's buyers 3-4 deep waiting in line at the moment. Once supply gets going (4-6 months) the prices will drop some. Patience is a virtue... (one I apparently I had littler or none of) The only other way for the prices to drop would be if they have serious problems (IE: tranny failure, week axle Etc.) then, prices would most likely drop. But, if they hold up, are tearing up the competiion and Yamaha regulates (strangles) their outbound distribution to keep demand high.... (ramp up the hipe) they might not drop much.... As in the past it's a "wait and see" situation....
