i got a chance to see the yfz drag race against some very fast banshees and a few piped raptors and it kept right up with the banshees and beat the raptors with not much effort.the race was up a sand hill in florence oregon on what we call our comp hill and the most impressive thing about the yfz is the way it was taking all the holeshots .from what i witnessed today it looks like the raptor with just a pipe and jetting will not be much of a contender aginst the yfz.i will be looking forward to running against a piped yfz with my 686 raptor but from what i saw today i better not make any mistakes or i will be eating some sand.i know some people on here get tired of just hearing how a new quad does in a drag race but when you see how a quads performs in a drag race uphill in the sand it is a very good indicator of its potential in other areas.

Just de- ranked the Ole Raptor down a notch. I relieved it of its sand tires/wheels, polished them up and bolted them onto the new YFZ. Wow what a difference! 4" wider in the front and 1-1/2"s wider in the rear. If this thing doesn't stick to the terain I don't no what will! Also, I swapped the front brake reservoir of the Raptor as it had a billet aluminum one, same size/perfect fit.

Just got back from Florence and didn't get to see any YFZ's. Heading down again next weekend and hoping someone has one down there. I'd like to check out what there capable of on comp and out on the trails. From the sounds of it the 450 would beat my rappy in both places.

Just got back from Florence myself, and 3 other good banshee riders had a heck of a time keeping up with the 450 they ran into out in the sand.........just all around riding and doing fast wooped out roads and worm trails........they had a hard time keeping up with it and pushing things past their comfort level........the 450 rider was good, but so were the banshee riders.

Everyone came away VERY impressed with the 450 for an all around well packaged quad.

Treeshot: I'll be up in Florence on 07/18th thru 07/22. Then I'm going to pick-up and relocate camp to Winshester for another 4 days or thru 7/26. I'll have my YFZ450 along. This will be it's first trip time/trip on it. After I burn a couple tanks of gas through it, I should be able to open it up and see how well it performs. Can't wait.

Heapster: Glad to hear your feedback the 450 running right with the Banshee's.

As usual Heapster comes in with an honest review! You always tell it like it is Heapster I like that! No my quad is better BS! No hidden comments at the end to try and secretly put the quad down cause it's not your brand! Just telling it like it is!

Rudedog, I'm going back down to Florence this weekend so we will be down there at the same time. I'd love to go out for a ride with you and see how the bike does. If your interested let me know and we can hook up down there. I'm staying at Sand Dune Frontier so I'll be like 3 min from Comp if you wanted to meet there. I've been thinking about trading in the ole raptor for a new 450 but I'd like to see what they're like first.

It did good up CHoke cherry last weekend against a stock raptor, but not that good. And the shees and a 250R smoked it without much trouble. I know stock vs. non stock but still, no matter how much you can afford for speed, the same ammount spent on a shee for dune running means the shee still rules. It is a damn fine quad though and it was fun to watch how after gettin stuck the first run, he forgot about break in time and cleared choke cherry easily.
