ya, just hate to pull the skid plate, or have to buy a baster [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img] was looking for an easy out, but your right, whats 1.59 on a baster comapred to 200+ to split the case if a seal goes [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]

Be aware to, that your oil level is supposed to be checked after allowing the engine to come to normal operating temperature, then shutting off the engine and checking the level immediately. If checked while engine has set for a time, oil will have drained from the engine back into the reservoir. A raptor with the proper amount of oil will overflow if the dipstick is removed after having set for a time. That's straight out of the Official Yamaha Factory Shop Manual.

it's not just yours mine and my dad's both do the same thing. We've overfilled them before and like everyone else said if your worried drain it if not leave it. But I found that the oil line at the bottom of the resivoir has a screen type filter on it, after a while it gets plugged with metal shavings and yamabond sealer (if you have done engine work). mine was almost completly plugged whenever the oil is changed be sure to clean this screen also.
