I have a 90 GT...it's still pretty much stock other than just flowmasters....I bought it back in 1999 from a old man for only 2500 bucks! It only had 20K miles on it!! I would have been stupid not to buy it!

i wanna know how long this race was between the gt & banshee? were you on pavement? i can't see even a 41h.p. banshee beating a gt, even in 1/8 mile. fyi, the old 5.0 had 225 h.p., the 4.6 has 260. stock for stock a 4.6 will win every time! i own a 02' & i would love to race a banshee or any other quad through the 1/8 or 1/4. any takers?

i once raced the fastest 250r in the county. i was driving a 78 pontiac phoenix, not exactly what you would call a performance car. it was a pretty close race until my transsmission finaly sliped it's way into 2nd. i just don't think were getting the full story here. im not famaliar with the town that your from, but i would be more than happy to meet you half way! i guess if this is true, i'll just have to see it with my own eyes.

3200 LBS/225 HP = 14.22 LBS per HP
400 LBS/41 HP = 9.7 LBS per HP

Add a 200lb rider to both and it is like 15.1 Mustang 14.6 Banshee

There's a lot more to the equation than horsepower numbers. Like torque. Torque is the power, horsepower is a measurement of how often it is performed. By adhering strictly to your pounds per horsepower formula, the Banshee should have a higher top end than the Mustang which would be in the 135 range. Probably not.

For the Mustangs: the 93 in particular other than the Cobra was weak. They actually went down on power in 93 to 205hp. They are a 15sec car at under 90mph, get an auto and it's a real turd. An LX 5.0 5-spd is a mid 14sec car at over 90mph, a pre 93 GT can bust high 14s stock with a "good" driver. This is off the street stock. A new 4.6 GT will bust high 13s pretty easily at over 100mph. A Mach1 low 13s at over 105mph, a Cobra high 12s at 112mph+stock.

Todays Mustangs are far better performers than those of days gone by(remember gross vs net hp?), especially the 80s, which are great cars. The real bad ones are the 93-95 5.0s, real dogs, especially the autos.

My '93 GT ran a 14.70 bone stock @ Atlanta Dragway. After gears, exhaust, chip, slicks and a few bolt-on i got it to run 12.90's. I guess my was buttoned up pretty good from the factory. Now it it time for a new engine and i can't wait.

You must be a pretty good driver, what mph you run stock and now? A 90mph car can run in the 14s with 2.0-2.2 60fts, I'm going to guess you cut 2.1s on streets in stock.
