In the 8th mile you should expect to win against almost anything. A fourwheeler is geared much much lower than a car, weighs less, and has a relatively larege patch of rubber for its size. The only things that will give you a run for your money are 4 wheel drive cars with turbos or cars with big ol rear tires and a big ol v-8.

You know I just don't know about all this. I'm thinkin' a Banshee with pipes and carbs etc. not a monster but a real good running stock cylinder unit wouldn't take my Mustang even in a 1/8 mile. It's no big deal, a GT 5.0 with GT40 intake, good headers, 2 1/2" exhaust, 70mm throttle body, K&N & 3.55's (stick of course) but it pulls pretty decent. I think that Banshee on pavement couldn't keep up. I may be way wrong, but dang what a good reason to line 'em up for a couple trips through the gears, and BS about it over a bunch of beer. Any takers around the Bitterroot Valley Montana? Let's go!

Well as another mustang owner..88 (Check Profile for pics) i have to chip in on this one. Most 87-93 5.0 stangs are mid 14sec cars..get a good driver and you can get 13s. I had exhaust, UD pullies and gears and ran a 13.9@97mph. Thats with slicks, on street tires it was 14.1@100mph. again, this is basically stock! My buddy with stock 2.73 gears and exahust, pullis, ran the same, 14.01@101mph..street tires!
Im not stock anymore, heads/cam/intake (although my bottom end is f-d). I've raced shee's and have no problem beating them at the track, they usually stay with me through first, and a bit of second, but then its bye bye shee!
The newer 99+ stangs have 260hp and can hit high 13s with a good driver, although its rair to see it, most run low 14s. the 96-98 stangs are down on power, they're heavy, and need torque.
Oh..and i've raced WRX's, modded ones too..i give em a pretty good run!
