......................LOL, guess you have never raced the new yfz450. A lot of people are beating piped banshee's with stock 450's. I think you need to see how the 450 is before saying "BANSHEE "nuthing", and I mean nothing out "excellerates" a banshee"
Guess why, from the factory too, the 450 is out "excellerating" =accelerating the banshee. Unless you start doing engine mods to it, the 450 will win. Provided the rider on the 450 is as good as the banshee rider and isnt 350lbs.

 

As a proud and die-hard Banshee owner I can definatelys say the 450 will win. Not a contest.

 

Hard to deny what we saw for three days at Saint Anthonys considering it was my brothers YFZ spanking ANYTHING w/ bolt on's. Not to mention Buddah weighs around 210 and he's racing these beanpole kids at a buck forty on their Toomey piped Shee's.............Wyoduner was there....

 

Had I any idea there would be so much controversey over how the fast the 450 is I would have made a point to get some racing footage. Live and learn.

People that know me know I don't BS - the 450 is F A S T! Plain and simple. The videos on my site of the 450s running Chokecherry should give a good idea when compared to other quads going up even though there wasn't a very good race video. The video with Blue Raptor - that Raptor was very fast and nowhere near stock, The video with the red and black Raptor is a good indicator, though.

Whenever a new quad comes out there is always a lot of hype and it takes a while for the facts to roll in.

 

From what i understand, from multiple sources, is that the yfz runs about 40hp stock, with up to 8 hp attainable when piped, jetted, and a properly set up intake. This is about 5 hp more stock than a raptor, and about 8 more stock than a shee. The raptor gains anywhere from 8-15hp piped and other similar mods, the banshee about the same. The yfz should be the fastest production quad out there. Anything less would be a dissapointment judging from manufacturer numbers and weight figures. The banshee and raptor, however, appear to have a higher modification ceiling. They can be made much much faster, but this is still unknown about the 450, as it is simply too new. when aftermarket companines have a litte time to play around with the machine, then we can have a fair and conclusive comparison.

Until then, its so close, that the start will probably determine the winner, and that all lies on chance and rider skill. so go race and have fun. No matter what you ride.

 

I notice that the people who don't believe it, are the people who haven't seen it. I was shocked
myself. The 450 exceeded all my expectations. Just about everyone who has seen the 450 run
is saying the same thing as me.

I still own a piped raptor, have owned a modded banshee, and my brother-in-law currently owns a lightly modded zilla. (althought he still has some tuning issues)

i am sorry i havent seen the 450 i have heard but never seen... all this depends alot on that serface u are racing on... on the sand a 2stroke is more fit because of geting alot more wheel spin alot faster... on dirt the 4stroke will be more at home for not getting to much wheel spin... the 500 are incredible bikes... i own a 99 shee that was dinoed at 49 horse to the ground and i have ran againt alot of 500 and they are extremely hard to beat(on the sand)... one bike no one has mentioned is the polaris 500... laugh if u want but i am telling u all this is the best kept secret in the atv world... i am not saying it is the most god awfull fast thing but a buddy bought one recently and has done nothing to it and it runs very had against my bike... not to mention the sespention is 10 fold to a rapterd... i am sure the 450 are extremely nice but with never seeing one i dont know what they will do... on the sand nod for mod with good rider an lt500 is the champ... on the dirt i am saying a predator 500 or the 450.... this is just my opinion from what i have seen and hat i have rode... ps... a raptor hahahaha
