I would just weld or melt the flywheel to the case because then the crank won't move...just a suggestion, and i wouldnt use any new gaskets, I never do and everything runs great! just tighten those suckers right down lol.

I'll try to finish up most of the job tomorrow night and Saturday night (too hot around here to work during the day. Going to have to get A/C for the garage or bring the quad in the house to work on it (don't think the wife would go for that!)

Well congrats!
When I built my motor I lived in an apt. with no garage. My head got ported in the living room. LOL She'll get over it eventually. Just tell her its for her anyway.

ROFLMAO
I say that because you don't know her! (I would be DEAD!)
Actually, she is very cool. . . in fact she helped me get the jug on over the piston tonight and helped me tear the bike down for this build!
I was able to get my Daughter's LT80 in the front door the other year for x-mas but. . . it didn't have any leaking fluids and had towels under it the whole time! Was pretty cool when my daughter came to me (while I was still sleeping) that morning and asked, "Daddy, who's little quad is that downstairs?" Some of the best money I ever spent!

Hey bud,
I am new to this forum but not new to atv's.
How did the build up on the Raptor go? I recently purchased the 102mm JE piston w/ 12:1 compression, not installed yet though. What namebrand cam did you get? Was the cam install difficult?
Do you have any tips to offer?

Let me get back to you on the build. (I have hit a snag! More info to follow.)
The kit is a mild 686 (11:1 piston, stage 1 cams, stock valve springs.) Also doing the Yoshi Full pipe and K&N filter (I guess it is all in my sig. now.
Cams are a little bit of a bear to get on. Definitely take a look at the Raptortranny.com web site and look at their instructions before you start working on the build. If you don't have a shop manual get one of those too. That should help. Once I reviewed the Raptortranny instructions for removing the cam I figured out how to get it back in there (gotta drop the sprocket below the cam, put the cam in the head then raise the sprocket back up. I was not able to get it on with the sprocket up. Just not enough room!
