Default entry level quad confusion

I'm setting things straight with no opinions just facts.

Drag racing
1. warrior
2. blaster
3. mojave
4. 300ex
5. ltz250
6. 250ex

with everyone knowing proper shift points and no mis-shifts and from a rolling start in first. Distance 300ft

roosthrower,

I won't argue with that list.

Default entry level quad confusion

What confuses me is why someone with an entry level quad would get so concerned about drag racing and what is or isn’t faster.

I rode an 86 LT230 Quadsport for 2 years and never once even concerned myself with beating anyone else’s quad. I bought a cheap slow quad because I couldn’t afford a fast one but wanted something to ride, not to sit around and worry about which other slow quads I could outrun.

I thought about a big bore motor or a cam and high comp piston. But I’ve never been into making something slow go fast when I could save $ for a bit longer and make something fast a rocket ship. Hence the LT500.
