Default How Much Power From These Mods?

I just ordered the following parts for my bone stock '03 Raptor:

K&N Air Filter - Stock Replacement
Outerwears
K&N Jet kit

I also plan on cutting holes in the top of my air box lid. What kind power gains should I expect? How noticable will it be? Will it be worth the $100 I just spent???

I plan on getting a new muffler down the road and the DNR will kick me out of the trails if I'm too loud. Any suggestions on a quiet muffler that flows better than stock?

THANKS!!!
Don

with that filter, you will increase your horsepower by about 0.5%. with those outerwears, you have gained atleast 10hp. with that jet kit, you will have gained about as much HP as my lawnmower will from kicking the tire and swearing.

you wont notice much of a difference. add a pipe, a cam, .. you will feel a large increase in mid-range.

Layke,

Have you had experience with adding these mods to a stock Raptor?

Thanks
Don

Don,

Note the sarcasm.

Thanks
Layke

You will feel a small increase in your raptor, im not sure why you put (power) including outerwears. I have had experience with a jetkit on a 400ex, and it woke it up! so i can imagine, it will do great with a raptor.

if you cut holes in your air box lid, it will really wake it up with other mods. for the pipe, try a search or ask another user.

EDIT: here is a raptor-pipe thread! http://forums.atvconnection.com/mess...&keyword2=pipe

DSZYDEL- if you want a quiet exhaust system i can highly recommend the fmf-q muffler and the power bomb header .the fmf system may not be quite as powerful as some but it is not as loud either, mine was tested at the oregon dunes where i ride and it came in at (92 DECIBELS) which is very quiet.if you install the k&n air filter and (PROPERLY JET IT)along with the fmf system that i described you would be very pleased with the results and you would also have a legal system that you wont have to worry about getting busted for.

If you just removed the lid that would help alot more than the holes and save your air box lid

When I put a K&N filter and Dyno Jet kit in, I felt a new snappiness to the throttle, it felt alittle faster, but taking the lid off and adding Yoshi full system really woke it up. You will really notice the difference once you lose the lid and pipe it.

the lid holds the stock air filter in place. Need to make something to hold it or send back your K&N and get a prodesign setup.

You will gain more power with out the lid.
