Need some Advice.

I've got a 01 Raptor that I tore down months ago. I've not done anything with it due to that I had another Raptor to ride. Well now I need to get it done. I put an hotcam and piston 11:1 in it. I haven't finished it due to that I'm afraid the rod will blow. Should I
1: Put a stock piston into it.
2: Bore it out and buy a bigger piston.
3: Put the engine in and Pray.
4: Throw the thing off a cliff.Oh yea no cliffs around here.
One other question a head gasket thats been torqued down but not ran. Is it reuseable or ruined. Thanks.

If money isn't a problem I would go with a better piston. ....maybe I am confused after re-reading your post. You said you put an 11/1 piston in it, soooo you didn't have it bored for the new piston??? This MUST at least be checked for proper clearance. You should be able to have it bored to the proper size for little of nothing.
I am on the third build with this one head gasket. I think you should be fine. I have a HP from Cometic.

I have a stock bore with 11:1 piston. I have checked the clearances and they seem right. I just don't want to blow it. But I have been out of the loop. So I didn't know what option I should do with it. I'm not after the most horsepower. Just wanting some more power.

If it is together. If it's the one that you tore apart to replace the tranny and its still apart and you have the money I'd get the Carrillo rod. If it was never tore down that far and or is not apart, again I'd do #3.
You checked the clearances so you know thats right. Make sure the screen is clean in the bottom oil line coming from the oil tank, clean it if it's not.
Put that stock bore 11:1 in and cam and enjoy your new ride. JMO

I would ride it. I know that some have had rods fail. I have seen and run some that put out a lot of HP on factory rods. I know guys spraying large NOS shots on factory rods. If you put a carrillo rod on YOU SHOULD rebalance the whole thing.

Thanks guys for your input. I will install it once I get my Clutch Basket. And new jets, the stealership didn't have any big enough. Going to make sure it runs a little on the rich side.

Put it together
get oil pressure before she fires
run it like a raped ape
The only reason that stupid carillo holds up is because its so heavy the motor won't make more than 5000 rom(not the truth)
I damn near choked when I heard someone suggest re-using a head gasket...is it realy worth the 30 to have to pull it out and apart again...why do things half arsed
