Rear Axle Problems-Help Needed
I have a 1996 Yamaha Kodiak 400. Lost my 4 wheel drive and when I took it apart, I was suprised to find NO lube in the splines. In the final drive unit, are the rear axle splines to the ring gear splines lubed by gear oil or are they dry? Also are the ring gear splines pressed in?
Kodiak repair manual I have doesn't show diagram of the final drive unit.
Any suggestions on best place to get new axle. Live in Northern Colorado.
