Default Thumb VS. Twist

Thumb all the way. Leaning in to turns and I think it's easier to let off on the gas with a thumb while still hanging on. Twist throttles you tend to hang on and inadvertedly give it gas. I saw a guy on a dirt bike run his up the tree that way in the woods. I rode a DS650 with a twist throttle, it was damn responsive.. but almost killed myself.

Default Thumb VS. Twist

The one on the Mojave I rode was set up more like a dirt bike. You had to twist it a long way to get it full throttle. It was really controllable, but that might also be because it wasn't that powerful.

Yeah, I'm thumb, the only thing that makes twist better in my mind is for winter riding, you just have your hand that gets cold, not your hand and thumb.... So no need for a hand warmer, but I can see in turns and catwalks that the twist would make it awkward on my raptor, it's too finiky when your up that high, I can hold on just fine with my thumb.... I find you get better throttle adjustment control with the thumb for fine throttle control, you can hold just one side of the handle bar and gas it at the same time, like when your catwalking to give the thumbs up or whatever like that... Easier for tricks in the air on that side of the handlebars too....

Default Thumb VS. Twist

Both work fine for me. If your thumb hurts then your a ***** or you just havent been riding enough and not use to it.The only time my thumb hurt was when I first went riding.Twist is simple after you ride a lil, you get use to the power.Doing wheelies seems easier but thats MO. And if you cant control it, thats too bad. I've never seen a motorcycle with a thumber on it.

Not all thumb throttles are the same. The 400 EX is kind of stiff to push compared to a Stock DS, Raptor, Predator, KFX/Z. However Banshee's and a TM45 mm carb for the DS is the abosolute worst!!
