Default Yamaha Blaster Problems Year Model 2000

I have a Yamaha Blaster and the motor idles fine, but when I get to 3rd gear it cuts out. I have drained the gas and carb., but it still cuts out. It will idle perfect and you can give it gas in neutral and no cutting out thru 1st and 2nd gear, but when you hit 3rd it starts back firing & cutting out about 1/3 throttle right when the powerband should kick in. The engine probably on it has 20 hours or so on it. I have changed the spark plug and it has new gas and all the fluids are full on it... All the stuff is still stock and no mod's have been put on the ATV..I would appreciate any info, I hope its a minor problem and would appreciate any suggestions....
Thanks a bunch.....

Have you cleaned the air filter? It sounds like its getting gas and not enough air.

Go to BlasterHQ.com and ask them they are the blaster experts, if anyone will know they should.

Samething happened to me this last weekend. But mine wasn't getting high rpm no matter what gear. So i turned it off and saw gas flowing out of both overflows. Took it to the shop and turned out it was some chrome like stuff cloging the carb. The thing that amazed me that it didn't have a gas filter. which sucked because i would of saved a 100$ if yamaha put in a gas filter. or maybe the guy i bought if from did it. either way it sucked
