what do you think of putting a .450" lift alba cam, valves springs, and tit. retainers+guides? how will the power be? does the rev limiter need to be removed? any reliabilty problems with the engines holding up after the cam is in? i will be running mostly open trails so the bottom end power will not be an issue so i really do not think the high. comp piston will be necessary. what do you all think about doing this?

I think you'll like the Alba piston kit. I know I do. Pulls hard thru all gears & really "wakes" the 350 up. I didn't do anything to the rev limiter, don't think you'll need to. Find someone with a valve spring compressor, or have a shop do them.

I have the full setup and it pulls like a pack of mules. That is why I am selling it. It can be insane. The low end torque is too much for my trail riding. It is great in the dunes but I got a KFX400 for an all around bike.

As your sig says that the rest of the quad is stock, the cam by itself won't do "that" much, but as the other guys are saying, go for the whole package, piston / ported head / free flow exhaust / K&N intake........and THEN the cam will help the engine breathe and rev better.

.450 lift is pretty extreme even for a built motor, you might contact Powroll and look at their .430 lift.

Remember your stocker is only .380/.382.

My sig didnt have enough room to put all the details. It has a stage ll cam, piston, crank and long rod with a Duncan Double Barrel w/ a full chrome pipe.

If you just get a piece here or there it shoulnt make much of a difference. So then why bother wasting money. Have you done any thing else to bump up the power? Air filter, pipe, etc?

At the very least you will need some kind of exhaust and a free flowing filter. A .450 needs to breathe. The more other things you add though, the more the cam will add.

But don't buy the carriage before the horse. Get an exhaust that will compliment the cam and your airbox set up before you get the cam. That is just an opinion.....

I tried my stock ehaust (no spark arrestor) back on one day just too see, and it just plain wouldnt run above idle. Im sure with enough jetting it would run but I cant imagine it would run good. Then again I may be wrong. Grab an exhaust on ebay. But DO NOT get a cobra or DG. I had a cobra and I just couldnt get the thing to run right (rich in some places, lean in others, unable to compensate enough), I switched and voula! almost perfect.
