I was thinking a Ford Racing 385 hp 351 crate engine with a Vortech supercharger (or any other company that makes one for a carbueretd, sp, 351, and some kind of a strong tranny, man would that be sweet. Sorry, just dreaming.

How about a big wing in a muscle car. C5-R team has won every race this season in GTS class except 24hrs of LeMans.
The best, fastest, most stylish, race proven cars in the world are built and tested in Michigan. =P

I dig anything that's fast. And that limits my Japanese car selection to DSMs, RX7s and Supras, which isn't a bad thing. I really like my wife's 98 Talon TSI, it has 3" exhaust, bigger turbo, 65lb injectors, a SAFC and about everything except a FMIC. All that power would be a waste with FWD, but the AWD really makes that car fun from a stoplight. It will hang with my car up to about 50 mph which puts it far, far *faaarrrrrr* ahead of anything off a showroom floor.
I like them all, but it really is alot easier to build up a Mustang than any other car out there. New Cobra Mustangs are incredibly fast, and with about $1500 worth of bolt ons they run well into the 11s which is $80K Viper territory and well beyond any Z06 that doesn't have nitrous or a blower.
But the Z06 is easily the best total package for the money spent today. It handles and brakes as well as any $200K car, and can make more power than most of them with a Procharger for about $5K.

Ok so I was bored at work yesterday and came accross some Fiero sites(co-worker's brother just bought one) and I would be interested in building a Fiero. Yea Ok laugh, I know I would of before yesterday. You can yank the 4 or 6 cyl and slap almost any GM engine in them up to a 400ci V8. Just think what you could do with a 600+ hp 2800lb Fiero with this kit on it.
You can pick up a clean 88 for $3,500 or lower. Then sink in lets say $10,000 more into a V8+ some other goodies and have a pretty fun car you built. Hmm That's only $13,500 and you have a pretty fun toy to blast around in. Yea I know it's not the norm but I like building things and think it would be fun.
The engine options alone are just fun to think about.
Heck if you had big bucks to throw away you could even build a turbo 3.8 from the Grand National that can pump out +1000hp if your insane (Ditwieler had one around 1,400hp) and slap it in there and beef up the rear. Yea ok that would most likely still grenade the rear and the engine would be worth many many times more then the car but it helps pass the time when your stuck at work.
Yea Ok so that is so far out of the ball park it's almost unrealistic but you could settle with minor body options, a 400+ hp 350ci V8 for $10,000 or less and still be under 3000lbs. How many grins per mile would that be?
It's been a long week and I'm bored out of my mind!!! Be gentle please.
*Grabs a chair and waits for everyone to pick themselves off the floor from laughing to hard* It was just a thought.

I would have to go with muscle cars, but there are some pretty quick ricers out there. I really want to own a zo6. I think you definitly get the most bang for the buck from that car. It keeps up with cars that cost twice as much. And about the new Cobra, sure its fast but for having a supercharged v8 it better be. These cars don't impress me much at all. After all it still only has 360 hp. My friends 2000 Camaro SS puts out i think 335 and its all natural. Supercharge that and see what happens. Better yet how about a twin turbo?

Yeah, 390, and with a chip, kenne bell twin screw, full headers and exhaust, and intake you can have 600+ horsepower. Besides, they don't even make the Camaro any more (even though I think it was a mistake to cut it out) and most of us don't have $50k to spend on a ZO6, even though I agree, they are awesome.
