Default Wolverine gurus needed!

Hey guys I have friend that has a 2000 wolverine. He had to disconnect the the top bullet connection from the perch. He said that it worked great for a while but now he said that it just cuts out and will not build any rpm. We traced it back to the plug that it goes into and the two wires are still intack. I did this with my raptor but I just cut the wires and taped them up and it was fine . I need to know what is the best plan of atack for those of you that have done this? Thanks Raptrman
