The sherrif came to my house today. I did not hear them come up, they knocked on the front door. I was in the back yard fixing to take care of some squirels. My wife opened the front door and the deputy came in . (we have 19 windows in the living room) About that time i rounded the corner from the garage with my kids paintball gun (perfect timing lol) in hand and turned to the house and there was the deputy. We were both startled for a second. lol

I was not in trouble the deputy wanted to now if i had seen anyone the day before on the property next door.


A little off the subject but i have rent property and have been doing it for more than 10 years now. It is amazing how many times that my renters will call the police on the people next door. They have yet to figure out the cop is going to run everyones ID. Seems like somebody is always going to jail.

It is sad but i truly hope the day never comes that i would have to call the police/sherrif for anything. I have a few police friends but around here the ones with the badge should not have them (small town) The ones around here are the ones picked on in school and could not make the big city force. But they have the gun and badge now....

yep way up here too. As the old , small town guys retire, theyre being replaced by guys from all over who cant make muster in the big cities?. scary. We had a cop shoot a guy dead yesty. the paper published the witnesses reports today, but the sheriff and the DA are 'investigating.' sounds to me like and unjustifible use of force by the deputy,i.e., he wasnt trained to handle the situation and shot when he was not in danger not once but twice, he was far from alone, killing a man with problems in front of his family. No one was threatened, according to the witnesses.
but a bad deal at any rate. will keep ya posted..... this is in a town where one murder a year is a big deal. I hope the deputy wont be at fault, but I have over the years grown suspicious of authority.

sometimes the stupid things they do absolutely BAFFLE me. They completely lack common sense! The old farts at least had that, and a knowledge of the folks they were dealing with. These new guys are paranoid, holster happy [even around me, a retired firefighter with a valid CWP] and that makes me uneasy. I dont want my little town to grow up and see what I see on COPS on TV. Maybe thats inevitable {rot in hell, chamber of commerce!} I'm not anti-cop by any means! BUT I think the next time i reach a shoot/no shoot situation, instead of waiting for them to saunter in, I'll handle it myself. and thats sad. we CAN do better.

 

Although this is a sensitive subject I appreciate all of your views and am glad I noticed and took the time to read this post and all the replies that go with it.

Maybe I've been watching too much FoxNews since the war, but politics and peoples political views interest me much more than I ever would have thought.

It's kind of funny how everyone writes thier replies with the best grammar and punctuation possible. It's like a contest, but much more important with no winners or losers. It's ~ko0~ to see some of you ~smart~ people actually use your knowledge/wisdom/intelligence/OR WHATEVER you want to call it.
