Project Wicked Wolverine!! Need help and ideas!
I have a dial a jet and opted to install the snorkel kit for it. It has a nice piece of tubing that you can run up to just about anywhere you like... I put mine right by the air intake tube under the seat. There is a filter element that goes on top of it to filter out exactly the previous post was about.
Dial a jets were originally made for snowmobiles which did not need filtered air. The snorkel kit was created when they decided to sell in the atv world.
So, get a snorkel kit.. problem solved. Just remember to clean it when you clean your air filter.

Who sells the dial a jet? Sounds like the ticket for a trip to Colo. I have a 2000 wolv. that I put the higer cam and dome piston in. Just that made a huge difference along with the usual jetting,K&N and a fmf exhaust. Would not trade it for anything. What is the advantage of the warn gears you were taking about? thanks Phil

Aaron - Hope you get better soon. Sounds pretty painful.
I like the CFM airbox pretty well, I havent had time to hook everything up to it yet because I havent had a whole lot of time to work on it. Ill tell you how it goes after I get it all hooked up.
As far as the dial-a-jet situation, I am going to go with a 36mm Mikuni Race carb with an accelerator pump this winter, but I wouldnt recommend doing this if you are planning to run 25" tires because it will deaden the throttle response and quickness off the bottom end.
I dont know about the liquid cooled Kodiak thing. I know that you wont need to do it and you would be putting alot of money into it that you dont need. Mickey makes an oil cooling unit that works well with the big bore kits. I didnt even put the bigger cooler on mine and mine runs great without it.

Im not sure about this when dealing with quads, as i've never owned one that was liquid-cooled, but on a car, water is pumped into the block and up through the heads as well. It seems like the Kodiak head would have holes meant to pass water into the block, which could cause big problems. Sounds like more trouble than its worth, but I'm not sure. Most definitely a huge fabrication project. Also, does it have any provisions for a water pump and such? Also, you probably need to get some nice titanium valve springs to keep them from floating at high rpm's.
Very cool project, though. That would be both dissappointing and kick-*** at the same time to get spanked by a Wolverine!
